Salmorejo! Who would think that tomato soup could be one of the best things I’ve ever tasted? Well, this version was just that — a taste revelation! This bowl was from Bar Belmonte, named after the famous bullfighter, Juan Belmonte. More on Belmonte in the following ALTs.

The decor pays homage to the great bullfighter, Belmonte. I am no fan or expert about bullfighting, but it sounds like Belmonte was one of the all-time greats. He fought bulls from 1910 to 1935, and survived many severe injuries in the ring (including getting gored through his chest!).

A little more decor at Bar Belmonte. Belmonte and his rival Joselito performed in the Golden Age of Bullfighting from 1914 to 1920.
