Detail view of a student project displayed on a white exhibition panel. Printed email correspondence with the city administration and the Stolpersteine initiative, photographs of Stolpersteine before and after being cleaned by hand, a spoon used for cleaning, a quote by María Puig de la Bellacasa on the political dimensions of care, and photos of cleaning materials are attached to the panel. All elements are connected by red wool threads, forming visible nodes where objects relate to one another, highlighting the fragility of the care network they compose.
We concluded the semester with an exhibition in my seminar.
One project stayed with me: students worked with neglected Stolpersteine and showed that caring for them is not just cleaning stones, but sustaining a fragile network of relations that keeps remembrance possible.
