"Congress today is hyperpartisan. It's really hard to get things done. We've seen a record number of resignations this cycle. What would Harry Reid think of today’s Senate? Harry Reid was a very self-aware person in many ways. You can't say that about many politicians. But I think he took very little responsibility for the Senate deteriorating from the world's greatest deliberative body, if it ever was, to the dysfunction that existed even when he left in 2016 and has become even more so now. He would blame Mitch McConnell for it. But I think to some extent, Harry Reid would thrive in the Senate as it exists today. I'm not sure that he would think that Chuck Schumer is the perfect leader for the Democrats as much as he would have been, because I assure you, he would have been much more outspoken."
