He was one of our oldest friends on here and an early supporter of #terriertuesday and I know his plain-spoken Yorkshire banter will be greatly missed by many of us.

This image shows the monument to Greyfriars Bobby (4 May 1855 – 14 January 1872)  in Edinburgh, Scotland, located in front of the pub named after him. A life size bronze statue of a Skye Terrier is supported by a polished granite column. The dog's nose is a shiny almost gold colour due to the amount of people who have rubbed his nose for luck. (This is discouraged because it causes damage to the Category A listed structure). The statue honours the dog who was known for reputedly guarding his owner's grave for 14 years in the nearby Greyfriars Kirkyard. Behind the statue is a pub called Greyfriars Bobby which is named after him. Greyfriars Bobby is traditionally believed to have been a Skye Terrier. While often depicted as a purebred, some researchers suggest he may have been a Dandie Dinmont Terrier or a terrier cross.
