Today's prompt for #thejanuarychallenge was 'Funeral for', i.e. letting go of something. It didn't take me long to decide what that would be.
Day 23 of #thejanuarychallenge: 'pen explorer' – let your pen explore different landscapes, textures, etc. ...
My pencils ran away from me a bit, but I enjoyed the journey.
Yesterday's prompt of #thejanuarychallenge was 'Turn up the volume'.
So I sang: first with sound, then with watercolours and Co.
A single stroke doodle on a post it that looks a bit like a giving Anubis
"A Single Stroke" Day 8 of @64millionartists #TheJanuaryChallenge
I put the pen on the wee post-it and this felt like a Thinking Session, not from the thinker's perspective but the thinking partner's, in the container of one hour, clock time, we travel and feel and see and ... (1/3)
Yesterday's prompt of #thejanuarychallenge asked us to imagine what creativity would look like in our lives as we get older.
Waiting for snow.

Day 5: Tear and transform.
I love the way this challenge makes me try out new materials, techniques, and themes.
There is a whimsical and watercolour bird in a notebook. Next to the bird there are Somewhere Over The Rainbow song lyrics. The song lyrics have been stamped using a miniature ink pad and alphabet stamps.
Day 4 Creative Prompt of The January Challenge.
It’s Day 4 of #TheJanuaryChallenge 2026!
Choose a quote or song lyric that is meaningful to you.
Write the words down, and surround it with doodles and drawings that represent its significance.
If it's a song lyric, why not play the song whilst you create!

Day 3: Hope in the dark
This one rather unexpectedly exploded onto the page.
Doing #64MillionArtists #TheJanuaryChallenge Day 27 - identify something singing in the garden - in this case a robin

Wishing everyone celebrating this week #HappyPongal
Day 12 @64millionartists.bsky.social #TheJanuaryChallenge we (me plus 3 yr old & 8 yr olds) chose to try mixing cola & water. Result made me think of William Blake quote: "To see a world in a grain of sand, And Heaven in a wild flower, Hold infinity in the palm of your hand And infinity in an hour."

A stop motion video showing a lego rose being made.
Day 4 of @64millionartists.bsky.social #TheJanuaryChallenge - challenge "Capture Your Day" - has been a lego sort of day. (Captured in very, very, inexpert stop-motion.)
Shiny lights and shadows on ceiling.
Very white light play on a ceiling.
Lights and shadows- including lots of curved shadows- on a ceiling.
Day 2 of @64millionartists.bsky.social #TheJanuaryChallenge was to "Look Up". I found myself captivated for several minutes by the interplay of light and shadow on my ceiling - aided by sunshine and tinsel.
It's January and that means it's 64 Million Artists January Challenge!
Day 2: Look/Listen up
This morning we had a cloudless sky of blue and pink. I saw three birds flying north and I realised that birds can't wave 'Hello!' like we can. Shame. I like waving.

The word ‘rejuvenate’ is written in blue fountain pen on a lined notebook.

@64M_Artists #TheJanuaryChallenge My word for 2019 is “dare” - dare to be imperfect, to be audacious, to give less energy to fear. Dare to engage with the messy process that must accompany learning and improvement. Dare to fail better!
@64M_Artists #TheJanuaryChallenge Day 10: Create something with one piece of paper. Today I learned that origami with Post-Its is NO FUN AT ALL.
@64M_Artists #TheJanuaryChallenge Day 8: Newspaper your day. Thread.
09:50: Local woman pleasantly surprised when amount of freshly squeezed orange juice perfectly fits glass
@64M_Artists #TheJanuaryChallenge Day 7: Design a jumper. As a yarn crafty person, all my real dream jumpers have already been designed. But inspired by @thelionspart’s magnificent #GreenMan during today’s Twelfth Night celebrations, I thought I’d get a bit imaginative.
#TheJanuaryChallenge Day 6: Soundtrack for today. Birds chirruping, Fred the cat purring, the dishwasher humming, my husband clattering away as he dishes up last night’s stew. Also Neutral Milk Hotel: https://youtu.be/TudLjZ_4VhU
@64M_Artists #TheJanuaryChallenge Day 5: An image for 100 years from now. Taken at a traffic light next to Trafalgar Square before the last election. I like the composition and think it’d be a nice illustration in a progressive history book when they’re learning about Brexit.
@64M_Artists #TheJanuaryChallenge Day Four: Build a castle out of whatever you have to hand. Being a bit lazy, I used words.
