NCLAT stays CCI ban on WhatsApp, asks Meta to pay half the Rs 213 crore fine New Delhi, Jan 23 (SocialNews.XYZ) In a respite for Mark Zuckerberg-run Meta, the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) on Thursday stayed the five-year ban imposed by the Competition Commission of India (CCI) on WhatsApp for its data-sharing practices. The NCLAT bench, led by Justice Ashok Bhushan, said such a ban could disrupt WhatsApp's business model in the country. WhatsApp has more than 500 million monthly active users in India.
