Glamorganshire Canal through Hailey Park, #LlandaffNorth

Cardiff Council acquired this stretch of canal in 1944 & subsequently filling it in to create the current path

In 1908, toddler George Stratton went missing from one of the houses pictured. His body was later found in the canal

The Adamsdown Hotel on the corner of Meteor & Moira Streets

Opened in 1867 w/ stabling & coach-house, in 1878 the landlord was charged with watering down his spirits

Coinciding with Halley's return, it was renamed The Comet in 1986, then The New Addie. Closed in 2011 #theandnow
