Genuinely excited about this... I've had a #janitorOfDungeons concept looking for a system for a while. I've tried #kingofdungeons & #theblackhack with limited success.

#TheBlackHack instantly grabbed my attention for its simplicity, size and versatility! The various hacks of it made me believe I could make one too and before I know it I created my first game! Oh, and the amount of useful tables here is also a benchmark for me!

Yes, and I honestly applaud the efforts the communities around those efforts make (like #gzdoom, #minecraft, #slaythespire, #hades2 (you get all the Lua files), and #neverwinternights), however things like #theblackhack, #glog and #cairn (into the odd) have an order of magnitude more variety imho.

Back in the day I drew a lot of art and an alternate cover for Mike Evans' #BarbariansOfTheRuinedEarth, which is a pretty cool post-apoc #TTRPG based largely on #TheBlackHack.

This, along with #TheBlackHack, really show what a modern D&D B/X could be...

Although #Dragonbane has stolen my heart, these two are neck and neck as 2nd place if I want to run some D&D oriented.

Because NSR is sort of a vague catch all, I also consider #Dragonbane, #Mork-Borg (and its related games), and #TheBlackHack as NSR. There is also #Knave, but its designer, Ben Milton, has had some controversy lately, and for my money is not worth following (even if I like the game).
