Chapter 1 GLORIA Mom was mad. Like, burn the house down mad. Yelling Spanish obscenities mad. Actually called her dad mad. And now Dad was pissed too, not just at her, but at Mom for "allowing this to happen" on her watch. They were currently alternating between screaming at each other and screaming at her. So Tante Petra did what she usually did in these situations - she scooped Gloria up and got her out of the house for awhile.
