Today we walked 19.5 km/12 miles along the Grampians Peaks Trail, including a climb to the top of Mount Gar, with the whole hike taking just over 5 hours.

White plates of something in lines fill in a gap under a rock, with a mass of black bees, I think, visible in the top part of the structure.

BIG question…this hive(?) of #bees was under an overhang at the Gulgurn Manja shelter of rock art in #Gariwerd / #TheGrampians. WHAT THE HECK IS THIS? Presumably native bees but 🤷🏻‍♀️. It was at least 60 cms across. Huge. Does anyone know about this sort of creature? #WildOz #insects 🧪 🐝🪲
