This is the finished sketch that I did right before lineart. I always makes sure that the sketch is approved by the client before finishing the piece.
This is what I consider a messy sketch - It a more polished thumbnail that shows more of the character's design and expressions.
The thumbnail is always messy and off model - I'm just basically putting out the layout of the characters and their position according to each other.
