Rewatched. A fascinating script full of unrealised potential. Washed in smoke and nineties sheen, the only interesting imagery emerges in the last ten minutes. Poor from Polanski, deserves an intense remake and would look better in monochrome.

So like i said im not too much of a Polanski guy.. but ninth gate is a pretty good movie. Very compelling parts of this picture despite the dark subject matter.. the film plays like an Eyes Wide Shut knockoff, but based off a different book & more silly at the mansion. #movies #theninthgate
