After 2.5 yrs, finally finished #TheStormlightArchives. Diving in online, finally. Scott & I are listening to the #WayofKings audio bk frm the library <3. It's fun to finally read all the things about the series - for instance, I'm surprised Adolin wasn't more popular, but I think that will change.

TL;DR: The story could have been a tight 7-to-800 pages and been excellent, but instead it was 1300 pages of meh, with high highs and low lows and an author trying to MCU his cosmere.

I finished, and I'm disappointed. What a slog for such a meh conclusion. I did enjoy certain parts (obv. Adolin, Shallan/Rlain/Renarin, SIgzil and Venli), but overall there was way too much of Sanderson trying to connect his worlds for my liking.

So I'm now ~60% through, and I think I'm realizing just how much I don't like Dalinar. I'm really enjoying all the other storylines (esp. Adolin's and Shallan/Rlain/Renarin's), but I pretty much skim the Dalinar parts.
