My very first Blackwall ami, and one of my earliest attempts at amigurumi and adding details with needle-felting. The result is sort of muppet-ish imo, but it's still one of my favorite and most beloved pieces. Blackwall stands outside near some rocks in front of a garden (much in need of weeding, at the time). His (wired) arms are folded across his chest, and he's dressed in his standard gear—boots, gloves, and gambeson, all in assorted shades of brown, and covered in belts. I remember how many times I wanted to give up crocheting him when I was adding all the tiny little details to his gambeson and the buckles to his belts, yeesh. Freehanded.
This is my second attempt at a Blackwall ami. It is much larger than the first and in a more realistic style. He's wearing his usual outfit, but the level of detail in this piece is higher (because, you know, the size allowed for it). His gambeson has tiny white ties at the front, the padding behind his belt is fluffy, he has a small hoop in his left earlobe, and there are streaks of grey in his hair and beard. I can't remember whether I wired the legs, but his arms are definitely wired as they are crossed over his chest in this shot. Freehanded.
Tiny! Blackwall! He is just itty bitty teeny tiny, so the details are sparse, but again, he's been crocheted in his standard gear (though here, his arms are at his sides, and his hair is up in a bun). Freehanded.
Okay, so this was (imo) a failed experiment, but hey, it's still Blackwall, so into the post he goes. What had happened was that I found a Santa pattern I wanted to try (sorry, I honestly don't remember which one), decided to try to convert it into a Blackwall in blanket yarn (first mistake), realized too late that the skin color was way wrong, and... I mean, he's recognizable, so there's that. And snuggly. The important thing is that he has a home with someone who loves him. So he's kinda squat and dwarf-esque here (yeah, in his standard gear, it's iconic, idk what to tell you), with sparse detailing on his clothes because blanket yarn is a big old bitch to work with. His right ear has a gold ring in it, his face is lined around the eyes and at the top of his nose, and his hair has streaks at the peak of his beard and at his temples. Honestly, I think I would have ended up much happier with him if the skin tone hadn't been so off. Ah, well, we live and learn.

x4 so far, but let's be honest, I'll likely make more amis of him at some point (because I love him, oh my god, I love him).

A neatly organized cache of furniture brought over by some refugee. Right at the front sits a child's rocking griffon with the rockers detached. It's made of wood with obvious love and care, with feathers and other features carved into the wood and everything held together by wood bolts. It has a worn coat of blue paint on the head and front and back legs. The back was perhaps painted and just worn off from use, or was left bare wood.
