A hawk is perched on a snow topped wooden fence in front of a reddish brown brick wall. The bird is approximately 38 centimetres or 15 inches tall, with bars of reddish brown feathers on its white belly. It has darker brownish feathers on its head and wing, a yellow eye and a short sharp beak. One of its yellow legs with talons is visible. It is likely an immature Cooper's Hawk which are prevalent in this area.

A male Hairy Woodpecker about 9 inches long is perched on a green suet feeder that has a tail prop for just such a bird. The woodpecker is pecking away at the suet. There are green shrubs and a few whitish hydrangea blooms in the backgrounds.

A family of swallows takes center stage, with parents proudly providing for their young. The chicks, still fluffy and vulnerable, open their beaks wide in anticipation as their parent swoops in to deliver a nutritious snack.

A blue jay sits on a branch of a shrubby-tree known as a purple sandcherry (it is reddish with tiny pink flowers all over it). In the background are bright green leaves of other shrubs, a large spruce tree and a blooming eastern redbud tree all covered in dark pink blossoms. The blue jay is facing slightly away from the camera because jays are just like that.
