Two yellow-green Tulip tree leaves curve up from a bud where more are folded and waiting their turns to break out ito the world. Nubbin Ridge Nature Preserve is an Indiana DNR property where the Hoosier Hikers Council built a trail. The preserve is on bluff overlooking the West Fork of the White River. The fresh yellow-green of new leaves is a welcome sight after winter. The Tulip tree (Liriodendron tulipifera)is a relative of the Magnolia and produces the tallest trees in the Eastern US.
