Of the winter thrushes there were hundreds of Fieldfare and a few Redwing at RSPB Fowlmere this morning. Several Song Thrush and Mistle Thrush too, and of course Blackbirds. #Turdus

それなりに大きいのと、群れで行動していることが多いのとで、見かける機会自体は多い野鳥です。春先は地面に降りていることが多いこともあり、もう少し撮りやすいんですけどね。冬はだいたい、枝の混み合った場所にいるから狙いにくい。

#ツグミ 【北海道自宅周辺】1月下旬
枝の混んだ場所にいて、不鮮明なのでわかりづらいですが、ツグミです。春先のツグミは集団で地面にいて、もう少し近づかせてくれるのですが、冬のツグミはとても警戒心が強い。ちょっとしたことで、すぐに飛び去ってしまいます。あんまり群れてる感じもなくて、単独行動してるっぽい。

オレンジ色の小鳥の姿が見えて、もしかしてアカショウビン？と思いましたが、違いましたね。望遠レンズで覗いてみたら、シルエットが全然違う。その場では名前がわからなくて、あとで調べました。アカハラですよね、多分。お腹白いけど……。

A few years back, in a heavy snowfall, I saw lots of these birds, sheltering by a hedge. Later, I returned with bird seed; one had died in the cold. I took it home for colour reference, it was invaluable for the underwings.
