The official 0.2 prototype is out, and I'm moving on to my next one! Added a main menu button today to go back and adjust speed.
Spent 40 more minutes on the deco layer and decided it wasn't worth it to do it shittily, so on we go

Deco layer is more complicated than I figured at first. Everything has been row generated until now, where I wanted to try out with chunks, but it's not /quite/ set up for that.
I'll give it another day or two maybe, I think for now I just need to step away

The end is nigh. Adding some deco, some afterthought tweaks, and 2-3 days we're moving on to the next game.
Today added:
- Ability to bail from typed words
- Incorrect input has visual and auditory feedback

Finished up my "ui tweaks" card. I'm definitely ready to move on to the next project but the game is feeling good. Cleaned up and fixed potential crash, moved on to the typing tweaks.
Feature addition is next though(!) so maybe that novelty will be good

It was bugging me- and playtesters- that words that had similar spelling didn't highlight at all so I changed it. I think I'll replace the pink and green. Pink feels good, green clashes.

Deco respawns with restart (+ underlying arch), distance increases with speed, points UI looks much simpler and better

Tweaked the movement a bit (I type at 180wpm, this is not sped up) and adjusted the arrows to match the "direction" of the dash. Close calls feel doable now. UI "polish" next.

Today's #typeskiier #gamedev update is adding a center word! I don't know if I love this so I might end up removing it in the future, but I'm glad I at least gave it a shot. Some tweaks to be made for sure. Speed up also only happens when you hit this middle word.
And that's a wrap on #typeskiier #gamedev for today-- dash is working, close call sound effect updated, gave a little white noise background as you ski down... heck yea.
The movement will definitely need some tweaking, but I'd like to finish the other updates to that first. And get some feedback.
