Transparency is so important when there is change. There needs to be a full well-motivated #UKRI picture that is clear to everyone, with a clear and fair impact assessment. Maintaining that there is growth gaslights those facing cuts and adds disquiet and confusion. This is not transparent yet.
3/4 It’s a repeat of history. When the US axed the Superconducting Super Collider in '93, they lost a generation of talent to CERN. Today, the mathematicians & physicists trained at the LHC are the same minds building AI & quantum systems. Cut the training, lose the workforce. #UKRI
