Making your own #umeshu #梅酒 has one advantage, you can use whatever alcohol you like as long as it's strong enough. Made mine with Slivovice, a Czech plum spirit, and with several whiskies. Almost everything turned out delicious, apart from a peaty whisky - peat and sweat don't mix well...
