View of Toketee Falls from the upper viewing area. Beautiful blue water pools in the basin below.
View of Toketee Falls from downstream of the falls, a glimpse of the second tier may be seen in the distance. This view also shows the swirling folds of exposed basalt rock to the left of the falls.
A view of Toketee Falls that focuses more heavily on the dynamic pattern of the basalt columns along the cliff face.
Looking down at two friends climbing up the steep hillside to access the lower area, with piles of snow accumulated at the bottom.

A view through the pines towards the falls. Patches of snow may be seen piled up on nearby rocks and trees.
A snow covered bridge walk over the smallish creek, surrounded by pines.
A view of Watson Falls and its surrounding cliff wall, with a snowy winter scene leading up to it.
Another view of Watson Falls in freefall. The bowl underneath covered in snow, with a pathway of the creek seen clearing the snow from center to lower left.

Toketee Falls (Oregon, USA)
Another mainstay of must-see Southern Oregon sites! I’ll take the waters of the Umpqua over any other.

A photo of a tall waterfall, it starts at the top of the frame and continues as it fans out toward boulders and a small tree at the bottom of the image. It's a sheer drop all the way down the cliff face it spills over. At the bottom it is about 4 times as wide as it was at the top. The water is white and very textured from dropping a long way (272-ft (83 m)). The cliff face behind the falls is a light buff tan at the top, to a light charcoal color from being damp near the bottom. And throughout it is heavily textured with random fractures and facets. Toward the bottom left of the cliff face, it is covered with yellow/green mosses. The same as what cover the boulders in the foreground. A tree frames the left edge of the image, it's tall brown trunk rising past the top of the image where some of it's green branches can be seen. A smaller tree with green conifer branches grows at it's base. The right side is framed by several small and medium sized green conifers. The boulders in the foreground form a jumbled slope from bottom left, up to lower right. A fallen dark red tree decays atop some of the boulders along the slope.
You know what day it is?
That's right! #WaterfallWednesday!
Today we visit Watson Falls up above the North Umpqua River. It's a tall one at 272-feet (83 m)! I caught it a spring run off flow levels, and it's tough to get close to because it spits A LOT!

My bank just tried to charge me 110 dollars for 60 checks... excuse me. When I let out a shocked gasp. All they could say was "it's our third party!" Well then get a new one! Or I'll be getting a new bank. #umpqua

Went on a trip to the coast, but some of my favorite shots were close to home. I had been eyeing that row of red trees and the vineyards for the last few weeks. I finally had my camera with me to walk back and get the shot.
