Relocated bison herd aims to bring food security to Métis in northern Alberta | CBC News Leaders of the Willow Lake Métis Nation located south of Fort McMurray, Alta., say the return of a wood bison herd to their traditional territory is a victory for food sustainability.

About 30 elders and leaders from the community greeted the herd, which was relocated from Elk Island National Park to a ranch operated by the Métis community near the hamlet of Anzac, about 50 km southeast of Fort McMurray.
