Riel, now known as the #fatherofmanitoba , grew up in a well respected home. Like many before him and after, he stepped out of comfort in the name of justice for his people.
As a Metis, I honour him.

Attended the 140th commemoration of the killing of Louis Riel by the Canadian government, and not only was Wab Kinew there, addressing the group in *three* languages, but Prime Minister Mark Carney showed up & spoke in a tremendously symbolic gesture of reconciliation.
