They hung the man, but they couldn’t hang the spirit of the people. Métis resistance didn’t end at the scaffold. Despite everything meant to erase us, we persist. ♾️

I come from a long line of resisters. The Red River people stood up from the start for land, language, and the right to exist as a people. Canada’s story includes Métis resistance, whether textbooks like it or not.

The government executed our leader, but we are still here.
