Monkey paw #uncurled

There are a handful of tall stalks with small brown thornlike structures running up the stalks. At the top of each stack is a circle which contains green sections. Then it uncurls these stalks will become the fronds of a bracken plant.

When I was out for a walk I noticed these beside the edge of the road. I was delighted to catch a photo of these #bracken #fronds before they #uncurled. When they are #curled up like this I always thing they look like something from another planet.
