A pen and ink drawing made 'en plein air' on the cold, windy platform of Piccadilly Station when I was about 18... so in 1962. I had just started my art course at the Regional College of Art, Manchester - later Manchester College of Art... now the Manchester College of Arts and Technology (or for short MANCAT) - and I remember we had one morning every week for outdoor sketching.

I still have this 12 x 18 inch pen and ink drawing in my portfolio made 'en plein air' on a cold, windy platform on Piccadilly Station when I was about 18. I think it was 1962 so I'd just started my arts course at the Regional College of Art, Manchester.
