Another from St Mary church in Plantersville. German and Polish immigrants built these "painted churches" mostly in Central Texas, but this one is close to Houston.

Recent outing with #USkHouston to St. Mary church in Plantersville, TX. A beautiful building, and a nice break from the city heat!
I kept seeing this imposing building in a residential neighborhood in Alvin, Texas, and stopped one evening to sketch it. It was once part of a manuscript museum system, then was bought by church, now abandoned again. I wonder what it will be next?

Visited some Texas Wineries this weekend, and did some sketching while I sipped! This one was mid-construction on a new patio structure. Who doesn't love to sketch a bulldozer?

Sketching at Super H Mart with #USkHouston! This is a big, busy grocery store focused on the local Korean community, but it also has a big Latin food section. The produce section is amazing, and a fun sketch on a gray winter morning!

Ink and watercolor sketch of a museum interior, with a taxidermy sheep, a mounted rhino head and other mounted heads, and museum guests, including children. Three small insets with a toucan break, a diving helmet, and a taxidermy porcupine.
#USkHouston met up at theUrban Sketchers met up at the Natural Science museum. I sketched in the "Cabinet of Curiosities" exhibit, a tribute to amateur enthusiasts whose collections led to the founding of modern museums.
