Here's my contribution to the conversation about #Utah #utahlegislature proposed educational budget cuts: they won't help anyone, especially students.

Top ten skills that employers prefer in college grads: Encouraging students to think for themselves Producing versatile students who can adapt to problems as they arise Adequately building technical skills for employment Providing students with a well rounded education An emphasis on ‘non-technical skills’ (e.g. critical thinking) Encouraging interactions with diverse groups of people Exposure to a wide variety of academic topics and disciplines Encouraging students to engage in communities Exposure to STEM fields Fostering a sense of social justice

The #Utahlegislature is planning massive budget cuts to universities. Their justification is a "demographic cliff" in #Utah. It is actually waves of growth and decline. This will hurt all college students and industry: what employers want in graduates is exactly what lawmakers want cut.

Maybe the right question is this: To which state agency should we be reporting students bringing this pornographic material into schools, and how should we handle their suspensions and expulsions?
