Hey @ireneforva.bsky.social or any other potential grassroots progressive candidate who rejects AIPAC money in the newly drawn #VA11 congressional district against Walkinshaw? We still need progressive voices to be heard to remove Trump/Abolish ICE/stand against genocide in Gaza/Palestine!
Rep James Walkinshaw ( #VA11 ) “He said he’d lower prices. He’s driving prices up. He said no “new stupid wars.” He’s starting new stupid wars.”
#STUPIDWARS #STUPIDTRUMP
#STUPIDMAGA
war is stupid.
#VA11 Rep. James Walkinshaw toured two Fairfax County food banks yesterday. In Merrifield, he saw more empty shelves than he expected.
“It is despicable what the Trump administration is doing."

Councilman Canek Aguirre attends DAAV and VA-11 Democrats Diwali Celebration
It was great to join @vaasiandemocrats.bsky.social and #VA11 Democrats in celebrating the Festival of Lights. Happy Diwali to all who celebrate!
Almost all Dem US Reps reliably cosponsor the #DCstatehood bill #HR51 2025. Both recent special elections Dem winners #AZ07 & #VA11 pledged during their races like I am asking you.
Only 14 Dem US Reps still refuse, 4 between D+8.1% & D+4, 6 between D+4 & D+2, & 4 below D+2.

When will Democrat Adelita Grijalva, the winner of Tuesday's #AZ07 special election, be sworn in? We don't know, and it's possible House Speaker Mike Johnson could try to delay it—though he didn't do so after the #VA11 special.
Grijalva's seating would force a vote on releasing the Epstein files.
In #VA11, almost 90,000 people rely on Medicaid & more than 36,000 people are enrolled in marketplace health insurance coverage through the ACA. If we don’t cancel the planned cuts & extend premium tax credits, the ranks of uninsured will skyrocket, driving up costs for everyone.
Busy day in #VA11! I started my day at Oak Hill Day where folks got a chance to tour the historic Oak Hill in Braddock District and learn about the property’s history and enjoy music and other local activities.
BREAKING all New Jersey Dem US Reps & Dem US Senators now cosponsor #DCstatehood bill #S51 2025.
Virginia, again, with #VA11 special election result, is likely next.
NJ & VA governor races early voting start Sept 19&20, 2025,

Screenshot of text of a news article that reads: Walkinshaw will arrive in Congress a few weeks before funding for the federal government runs out, a situation that offers Democrats an opening to demand their priorities be included in a spending bill — or shut the government down if they are not. Walkinshaw said he didn’t want a government shutdown, but said he’d consider withholding his vote if the funding bill was not bipartisan. “If they’re looking to have my vote on any government funding there needs to be a real bipartisan process in negotiation,” he said. “I’m not going to vote to extend cuts to health care that kick people off their health care. I’m not going to vote to extend DOGE.”
Democrat James Walkinshaw is headed to Congress, having won about 75% of the vote in the #VA11 special election this evening.
Once he's there, what are his thoughts on the looming federal spending bill deadline? I asked -
