An abandoned farmhouse stands alone on the grassy Vatnsnes Peninsula in North Iceland. The main building is a pale, weather-worn structure with a faded red roof and several empty black windows. Attached to its right is a lower wing with a partially collapsed, rust-stained roof - and on this right-hand section, a lone chimney rises against the sky. Cracked walls, peeling paint, and the broken rooflines lend the entire place a quiet air of long neglect. Behind the ruins, soft green hills and distant sea cliffs under a grey, cloud-layered sky reinforce the feeling of something once inhabited but now utterly unloved.
A serene scenery, but the house sits abandoned. The same isolation that makes the place so beautiful is the reason it was left behind.
