Chun-Li’s landing victory! Enjoying the fight with the park fountain as her background. I went for a somewhat exaggerated pose because I thought it would be fun. I was trying to come up with a dynamic pose that was a little playful and tried to play around with cloth since folds are still kind of confusing to me. I had originally planned to do this challenge a few years back. My rules for this it this time around are that I have to do most of the illustration in watercolor and ink because that’s what people voted on and to do full body poses with backgrounds that compliment them because I those are areas I’m not that confident in. Uploads for this series won’t be active or consistent because of how large I’ll be painting these they’ll take me longer than usual, but please wait for me as I eventually get these done. I was really nervous about started this one but I’m glad I did. I’m very proud of how this one turned out. Shoutout to sunflower_sosa on insta for the character recommendation.

An undershot of Misdreavus floating around. Something caught its attention. Sketch 8 of 8 that I did for fun. I chose Misdreavus because I saw one of those “What Pokemon are you” posts based off of your birth month, and I got Misdreavus. I’m sure the original color pallet would have looked pretty too, however, I went for a shiny Misdreavus because I felt like I used a lot of blues for the previous Pokemon and it had an interesting color scheme. Because it’s a flowy Pokemon, I wanted it to look like it was always in movement even if the drawing itself is still. I also cheated a little bit, and gave it false legs to make the pose a little more dynamic, making its body look somewhat poncho like. I think if I were to do this again, I’d try to make Misdreavus darker and using of more an olive to make its end highlights stand out more. I think the greens I mixed might have been too bright. I still like how it turned out, though! Drawn and painted between October 4th and 5th with ballpoint pen and watercolors.

Wingull soaring from below. Its wings spread wide as it makes a turn in the current. Sketch 7 of 8. Suggested by my friend Doodleydoodah on insta✨ Drawn and painted 10/03/25 with ballpoint pen and watercolors. If I was drawing Wingull from memory, then I would’ve given it legs. So when I looked up the official art and saw that it didn’t have any. I could only imagine that it walks like flailing around like one of those inflatable tube men you often see in front of some stores on the curbside. I was really tempted to draw the shiny version, because I really liked the idea of making the stripes a mid to deep green, but the reason why I chose the original in the end was partially just because I wanted to capture what the old gba and ds game colors felt like to me and the blue was a nice color, too.

They’re mid conversation. I just like Piplup a lot. Besides Bulbasaur, it’s just one of the starters I spent a lot of time with as a kid. My OC Tomao, embarrasingly taking a sip from her soda cup in a cafe on a rainy evening. Blurred traffic and car lights and reflections of the light in the cafe can be seen shining from the window along with the rain sliding down the glass.

Rejected unfinished drawing I made back in 2022. Was file searching for different drawing but couldn’t find it.

This was supposed to be a two part drawing. I wanted to make a gift for a friend but I wasn’t confident and ended up only doing one half.

There’s two versions: one with the shadow overcast which I drew digitally; and the other which is just the straight traditional painting. This one is the shadow overcast version. Thuglet stands ominously on the left and Stork stands casually on the right on the sidewalk in the middle of the night against a backdrop of palm trees. The text reads “why dis shrimp look so mad” with three sobbing emojis.

Version two where Thuglet and Stork don’t have the extra dark shadow. I wanted to play with their shapes to show off a bit of their culture when they aren’t wearing their staple outfits by keeping the silhouette of the most defining parts of their power suits but seeing what I could change.

Zoom out of the painting itself. I designed it so I could cut it and put it in my sketchbook. But now I’m debating whether or not I want to because I like some of the extra details in the bleed space.

My 8 year old art. If I named my character Nodica, then I must have just seen bits of Negima by this time? In my head I didn’t think it was that old, actually. Can’t remember what I was going for, but I liked angel characters a lot back then. At this age I actually didn’t have any characters that looked like me yet. I didn’t really get around to that until middle school.

I want to say I drew this around 2020? Because around this time I also drew a Switch in here and I only bought my Switch when ACNH came out. Admittedly I pretty much underused the drawing feature as a kid. But wanted to go back and remake my character since I’ve gotten better at pixel art over the years. This isn’t a version of my persona I actually use, but I wanted a fun excuse to make one for DtL because the shape is so specific. I do think younger me would be pretty happy with this one!
