I quite enjoyed this bit of writing on #Viriconium by the author.
I did not love the books themselves, but I liked this!

#Viriconium by Harrison. Recently read. I'm a sucker for fantasy featuring merc units. (Technically, it's SF in a low tech future, aside from ancient artifacts dug from the grip of the wastelands.) Sleek prose. Could be a series.
A man's shoe is seen emerging from a staircase leading to a lavatory with a mirror above the sink. "Viriconium!"
A Young Man's Journey to Viriconium
#viriconium
Evoking the traditional Mari Lwyd-- a horse's skull on a pole, hinged at the jaw with a rivet and pomegranates in the place of its eyes is seen with an embroidered cloak. In the midst of its cloak is an old house with four stone avenues permeating from it with several bricks strewn about.

Three images of dancers are superimposed upon each other, the middle one seemingly metamorphosing into a locust.

A portrait of a short-haired woman burns into ashes, along with a grouping of Tarot cards. In the background, vague outlines of a city get more abstracted, terminating in the face of a man with a red coxcomb hairstyle.

A man with a red coxcomb hairstyle stands behind an arrogant, aristocratic-looking dwarf and a cat. In the background are vague shapes making up a city. Above this are two drunk princes.

Two brothers drunkenly walk down a street while images of god-like warriors upon horses fill the sky.
The Hermetic Feast.

Finally got around to reading M. John Harrison's 'Viriconium'. It's kind of Michael Moorcock meets Mervyn Peake round Jack Vance's house, and contains some of the best writing I've ever encountered.
