I do suppose I am unused to anyone around me changing, as all those I associate with are vampires. But you are still half-human, and still maturing. There are times when I…” Ange’s brow furrowed curiously as he waited for Guil to continue, becoming concerned when a bittersweet smile crossed his face. “The humor emerging in your personality… the playful moments… at first, on the surface, they seem out of character for you and the quiet nature you have always possessed. But then… I remember why they are familiar… the teasing words, the banter you have engaged me in… you carry within you the carefree nature of Yutaka. Who you were truly meant to be is emerging now after all you have faced, even having grown up without him.” Ange felt a pang in his heart as he nodded for Guil to continue. “And after living for so long among those who are all they will ever be, their hearts, minds and souls frozen at the moment of their turning… I must remind myself that you have the rare gift of walking in both the human and vampire worlds, and of choosing to delay the moment you wish to preserve all you are until you can first become it.”
