SDEA logo and quote: "I’m voting YES to ratify the new contract because we protected fully paid family healthcare, ensured special educators receive the resources and appreciation they deserve, and secured a fair pay raise that exceeds the state funding increase. This agreement reflects real progress for educators and our school communities." - Will Carter, SCPA Teacher (Photo of Will smiling)

The header has a photo with teachers picketing for Special Education support. The title says "Just Facts." The color scheme and design looks like the "Just Facts" sheet that the District sent to everyone. Information on the image: The District has announced they’ll close schools on strike day. That’s no surprise - 90% of educators voted to strike! They know schools can’t run without us. That’s why even a one-day strike has real impact - on schools and on entire cities! The District already announced a makeup day on March 9. Educators have been talking about this possibility all along, but it’s something the District should have bargained with educators about rather than just deciding. Once again, they’re ignoring our contract and our voices. The District has a lot to say about how much they are “supporting” educators. Educators just sent a clear message: We don’t have what we need for ourselves and our students. We’ll keep telling families and communities the truth… our students deserve more support, and we’re standing up for them.
As educators and community members get a flurry of information from San Diego Unified in response to our strike vote, it's important to remember some things!
