&Y&Y: Really starting to love this band, should check out the rest of their albums at some point, really relaxing post-rock
NAWWAL: Didn't expect to love this that much, this band impressed me, it's really beautiful, especially the 2nd and last couple of tracks
YAT: It's really great but the last track is absolutely gorgeous
RF: Even more from this band, just as good as their previous 2 records, have 1 more left to finish their discography (+1 single), really loving them tho
PtSR: Also really good, though I prefer their sophomore
HVP1: I think it's been a while since I've listened to some modern psych rock, heard a lot abt this band and was planning to check them out last year with their new LPs but didn't find time, now I did and they are awesome indeed.
ITAWT: Their first couple releases all share some tracks so I already knew some of them but they're all great regardless
saki: Ethereal ambient downtempo vaporwave album
Crest: Loved it way more than I thought I would, probably my fav drain gang project from the ones I listened to
v2.0: Stellar modern jazz
JSRF: Not played this game either but both have top notch OSTs
IWY: Lovely, even if some moans got on my nerves
NPRS: Prefer Dark Island but it's great too
AHBF: Some of the most fun and energetic math/post rock
Split: Same thoughts for smw side, the other band's good too, though I prefer the former
Acoustic: Cozy alt versions of songs of their last LP
TIATYDK: Didn't hit as much as the others, but it's good, need to check out their final LP too
3AMS: Cool cover, good signalwave LP
EIA: Same thoughs, cool cover, good vaporwave LP

EEB: Having listened to everything else by Yndi Halda (except a live EP that's just acoustic versions of songs off their 2nd LP) I was missing their debut which was either way an album I was really looking forward to listening to in a list of stuff I wanted to check out. I knew I'd love it but It still completely blew my expectations landing somewhere in my top 10 favorite albums of all time, so I think that about covers my thoughts on it
SD (Relisten): Still my AOTY of 2025, still some of the craziest post-rock I've ever listened to and one of Parannoul's very best
Discovery (Relisten): Watched its companion film Interstella 5555 again for the 25th anniversary of the LP, already really love it obviously but it grew on me even more. And also Too Long clicked with me more
HHLUA: GY!BE is my fav band and SMZ is the other side of that coin but I've not really dived that deep in them, but I'm trying to make up for my mistake slowly. This is their most acclaimed LP, I totally see this. Feels like the middle ground between GY!BE's first 2 LPs. 13 Angels is surreal!
TNT: Ok I'm really starting to love this band now, such a relaxing instrumental post-rock record
AtE,BtS: Listened to their debut last year which really impressed me, now I'm really loving this band, they're amazing!
TBf13M: Really underrated in their discography
MFMK: Technically a single but it's long enough to at least count as an EP, not my fav of their tracks but it is obviously one hell of a track
TRG: Totally see why some say it's his best, the last two tracks are so good
DP: Didn't expect this to be so good, post-rock with some space and psych rock elements
GEATLID: Another band I'm starting to really love
IS: A random LP I got on bandcamp from a free code, beautiful new age ambient
STITI+BF: More great stuff, should check out some more by them
AIC: Still have more left in his discography but I feel like he doesn't miss
NP (Relisten): Really short 8 min record, still one of the most unique vaporwave

Minecraft - Volume Alpha (RELISTEN): Like anyone else born around the same time as me, Minecraft was unavoidable and eventually my curiosity lead me to try the game that I was pretty obsessed with for years since I've always liked creating things. Naturally, this is not only a soundtrack to a game but a part of my life too and all these tunes mean a lot to me in ways I can't express. I still believe both Alpha & Beta stand perfectly on their own as albums and that they'd probably still hit as hard even if they weren't soundtracks, the only problem is no one would then know C418 and thus I would've probably never heard of him, this would have faded into obscurity like how basically all his other non MC albums, which is a shame because his discography is full of gems and Daniel is a talent up there with greats of his style like Aphex Twin or Brian Eno
Mr Beast (RELISTEN): Not much to say here other than it's been a pleasure finally getting into Mogwai last year as they've turned into one of my most fav bands and this is still one of my most fav albums ever. Friend of the Night is lovely
Under Summer - I have one more EP and then their first release left, I'm really looking forward to their debut but I think I'll try it once I'm in the right headspace for it to click. Loved this though and I kinda needed something like it these days
WYL,YA: Dirty Three have been on my radar for a while, finally listening to them, this is a really sweat and relaxing post-rock album
RoR2SotV: Still haven't played that game, but this guy's the best living musician from my country imo
ethereal kid: A random ambient dreampunk album I found on bandcamp and owned from a code for a while now, it's always great when you connect with an album you randomly discover. I mean it's not much, but it's pretty great for what it is, pretty short too.

Albums I've been listening to the first week of March, from most to least favorite and thoughts on alt text.
Basically ambient and post-rock here.

Ravedeath: Knew this is considered one of his best, definitely is, just as great as I suspected, been meaning to listen to this for a long time. Also second time this is happening, listening to In the Fog III it kinda reminded me of my song Rekna, which I obviously wrote before listening to this (and Hecker far before me), they're not that similar but a part of it reminded me of it, the first time it happened was with Chimera on HiUV reminding me my self titled Snow Towers track. Guess we might be sharing the same soul wavelength, only that I suck and he's one of the best of ambient
TCoS: Now that I finished their discography, honestly, I think I can kinda see how they ended up making post-rock after this, definitely more experimental than their previous 2 LPs, also obviously incredible
dustsucker: Also finished Bark Psychosis' short discography, at least the 2 LPs, there's some EPs I want to check out at some point, honestly might like this better than Hex, but both are phenomenal
IML: One of the best synthpop LPs, really good for something from the 80s, doesn't sound dated
DP: More like RD'72, simpler but still great
CR: Incredible song, still not sure if ETK is my fav SL LP, the rest of the EP are nice too
VDP: Another one of telepath's best
Sings: Yep, he does sing and he's great!
SWTGTM: More instrumental jazz, great too!
Standards: Listening to some more Tortoise, another good one
☯: Nice ambient LP
MW Emo: More than novelty, actually great
FU: Crazy ahead of its time, tho some lyrics are... eeh
Kmart: Stupid titles even for vaporwave but nice mallsoft album
AOS: Really short and sweet record
Sunflower Image: Admittedly, I've listened to half of its 6+ hours of runtime, it gets really repetitive and it's not sth like EATEOT that I need to get to the end really, but it is honestly really impressive, just... tiring, maybe it's on me for trying to finish it (and fail) in one sitting.

AOASIME: Thinking about it again, this might probably be the best starting point to get into Explosions in the Sky and post-rock as a whole, but for EITS specifically it's a bit more complex than some of their other stuff, has a darker side like their 2nd LP while retaining the core appeal of the band (and post-rock really) with their bright uplifting crescendos and the emotional punch. Still love it, one of my all time favs, even if it might be slowly falling behind on that list since I think I'm favoring some others over it, potentially the one that's next here. But it's still nearly as good as TEINACDP
As the Love Continues: Their best since Mr. Beast imo, so really high up on my Mogwai ranking, I also adore this album and it's one of my all time favs. Ritchie Sacramento is arguably their best vocal songs and Midnight Flit is an absolute masterpiece. Definitely deserved reaching #1 on UK album charts when it first released, which I'm not sure that has happened to post-rock before
Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will.: Another Mogwai album, also great, really diverse with its styles too, love it
The King of Limbs: While it's still probably their weakest after Pablo Honey, I always thought it's overhated, it's such a great album, love the experimentation and above all its atmosphere. But yeah, I wont lie, the live version is the superior version. But still think it's great regardless

Lamp: Listened to even more from them, still have a few to check. For Lovers has basically kind of become a classic over the years, it's such a great vibe although I prefer Phantasma and maybe even Dream over it. The other one here I love too, feels almost proggy at times, I guess due to how jazzy it is and it has some of their most complex and longer songs
Hex: I've been meaning to listen to this band for a long time, they only have 2 LPs but I'll check out their 2nd another day. It's basically early post-rock and it really gives late Talk Talk vibes and I love this kind of music
Y,YAHIR: Also finally getting into DMST and damn I really loved this, idk if their other works are similar but it felt surprisingly cozy
SftW: Another kinda cozy album here, feels like what the cover looks like, definitely one of their best
GT10: Still need to finish their discography to be sure, but I think I prefer GIAA's later period works, this one's a bit dark and haunting, all the songs have MVs so it's like a film
100th Window: Don't get why it's not praised more, nearly as good as Mezzanine, really blew me away
Atrium: Great liminal space vibe mallsoft
AMoS: Early GIAA so has a more electronic vibe that I love, even if I think that era of the band can feel samey sometimes, they're still amazing, it's an EP but I listened to a reissue with bonus tracks that might be better than the main tracks and make it long enough to count as a LP
KT: GY!BE is like my fav band, of course I love Silver Mt Zion
Jazz Samba: It's what you expect and it's a great classic
Jakob: I think it's supposed to be an EP but due to it's length it might as well be their debut LP, great stuff, early Mogwai vibes, need to relisten to Cale:Drew now
Heligoland: Their weakest but still great
TPO: Finally checking out their early works, wow they had some crazy evolution
AMS: Nice vaporwave
Lookfar: Louie Zong's works are nice
DTSDIH: An interesting vaportrap LP
PRS: Weaker than later EPs but I like how quirky they are

Yume: I've listened to about 3-4 albums from Lamp I think at this point and since there's not that much as their discography is rather small I think they should now qualify as one of my most favorite bands, they got a nice laid-back vibe
TEotB: God is an Astronaut is one of those legendary post-rock bands that I've yet to really finish their discography. This is their debut, I love the more electronic downtempo elements it has
Process: Surprised by how much I loved this, I've heard of Sampha as a name before but now I'm a fan, this guy's really good
Lumi: Also surprised by how much I loved this, since it's generally a short simple cutesy downtempo album but I think I kinda needed it at the moment I listened to it, calmed me down, it's really beautiful actually
Harvest: It's a classic for sure, what else is there to say?
White Tiger Field: Got back with more Hirasawa, been a while since I've last checked out one of his records. Couldn't find translated lyrics for this this time but it's incredible either way, this guy's insanely talented
LVdlL: Music inspired by an important film made by an amazing electronic group. I think they did a good job, it can get pretty surreal at times
ESD: Named as a fav of an artist I like (who follows me on RYM for some reason) TURQUOISEDEATH, it's an incredible ambient EP
The Scuffler: My least fav from this series of EPs I've heard so far but still incredible
LFJR: Insane how the samples are completely unrecognizable, like doing similar things too, except I suck cuz I don't really go anywhere with them
TCIMF: A more beat driven dreampunk album, pretty good
LND: A vaporwave classic, might have actually listened to it before
J. Stauber songs: An EP of a bunch of great songs by a quirky artist I've always loved since getting into music
B-Sides: Wouldn't mind them in the normal LP, they all rule
TRP: Best I've heard from them so far
AOWK: Already knew it from ENA, nice stuff
Butterfly: From BC listen party, spotty but with great heights

Departure Songs: An album I've known for pretty much a decade, probably my first exposure to post-rock but for all this time it was only a thing I listened to a couple of minutes from it, said "I'm loving this, need to listen to it properly when I find time" but I somehow only found time to do that some time last year. It was an immediate hit obviously, in my all time fav albums but relistening to it now, it might have straight up landed at my top 5 of all time. One of the very best of post-rock, dare I say even of all time regardless of genre
Dream Desert: Is it cheating that I didn't listen to the full thing? I mean, it's 4 hours long, I've listened to the first hour or so, it was a busy week for me. I randomly discovered it around the time it released and got really popular on Vapor Memory's YT Channel, the cover grabbed my attention, to this day probably my most fav album cover ever and the music fits perfectly. I kinda wanna live there, the atmosphere is so serene and otherworldly. Rose up really high on my all time favs, even if it's really long and I'll probably not always have the time to listen to the full thing
THM: Yes, pretty cheesy, but the production is unbelievable, and honestly, I don't mind the cheese, couldn't really imagine something like this being any different actually
AiV,AiB: Considered their best, I prefer some of their later works I've heard, specifically their latest is my fav, but this is still obviously amazing
Shred: Skee Mask is going to be considered a classic electronic artist one day
Kuchu Kamp: Fishmans are awesome, I don't love this one as much as others do, I'd put Orange over this (and the last 2 LPs +98.12.28 obviously), but it's really good obviously

Dark Island: Why'd it take me so long to get into Pram? This is amazing! Love it's kinda spooky vibe. Feels like a soundtrack to some old obscure console cartoony "horror" game. Need to check out more from them
MOTFD: Honestly, better than World is Yours. The 9 minute long track is epic!
solitude: Might seem way too high of a placement here for a lo-fi hip-hop album but I feel quite nostalgic for them and this is actually an incredible album. The tracks are too short but feel like fleeting memories, the production is better than most other lo-fi hip-hop out there, closer to Nujabes, got some extra wave SFX. It's just really calming and beautiful, I loved it
C&S: Finally listened to some Joni Mitchell sometime last year, more great stuff, though I still prefer Blue
Talkie Walkie: Moon Safari is one of my all time fav albums, about time I listen to some more from them. A bit poppier but that's not a bad thing cuz the execution is great.
MSB: 2026 AOTY so far. I knew it'd be something by Parannoul. Eerie avant-folk with Sigur Ros Vonlenska vocals
Da Budet: Keep saying I want to get into more trance, this is awesome
FOGFWPLOE: The penultimate track is phenomenal
JazzArt: Finally listened to them with their new LP last year, still prefer that over this one but this is still insane and has some brighter moments
WR,WR: More early Parannoul as Laststar, big Mogwai vibes
Purpose: Realized I haven't listened to that much Sangam despite my love for dreampunk, this is really short but really ethereal
Void-004: More dreampunk, has a fuzzy vinyl sound baked in
LSD: Nice shoegaze EP
VLW: Gave her some cloths so the post wont get flagged. Funny, creative and weird trip hop
HiaP: A downgrade from the first, not bad, has some cleaner moments but some things don't work that well
Kora: "where's the drop?"
Macroblank: Still not sure what to think about barber beats, I guess they're fine for bgm but this was a bit meh tbh. Cool cover tho.

Dark Island: Why'd it take me so long to get into Pram? This is amazing! Love it's kinda spooky vibe. Feels like a soundtrack to some old obscure console cartoony "horror" game. Need to check out more from them MOTFD: Honestly, better than World is Yours. It's just really calming and beautiful, I loved it C&S: Finally listened to some Joni Mitchell sometime last year, more great stuff, though I still prefer Blue Talkie Walkie: Moon Safari is one of my all time fav albums, about time I listen to some more from them. A bit poppier but that's not a bad thing cuz the execution is great. MSB: 2026 AOTY so far. I knew it'd be something by Parannoul. Eerie avant-folk with Sigur Ros Vonlenska vocals Da Budet: Keep saying I want to get into more trance, this is awesome FOGFWPLOE: The penultimate track is phenomenal JazzArt: Finally listened to them with their new LP last year, still prefer that over this one but this is still insane and has some brighter moments WR,WR: More early Parannoul as Laststar, big Mogwai vibes Purpose: Realized I haven't listened to that much Sangam despite my love for dreampunk, this is really short but really ethereal Void-004: More dreampunk, has a fuzzy vinyl sound baked in LSD: Nice shoegaze EP VLW: Gave her some cloths so the post wont get flagged. Funny, creative and weird trip hop HiaP: A downgrade from the first, not bad, has some cleaner moments but some things don't work that well Kora: "where's the drop?" Macroblank: Still not sure what to think about barber beats, I guess they're fine for bgm but this was a bit meh tbh. Cool cover tho.

BoaND: Still the best thing to come out of the vaporwave scene and one of the greatest ambient albums imo. One of my all time favs
Moon Safari: Another one of my all time favs. Laid back yet kind of epic at times. As I listened to Talkie Walkie, I need to listen to basically every AIR album I think, I need more
LWotPoaBC: Digging up some interviews on the internet I found out this LP was inspired by a dream Parannoul had of finding a blue cat and following it into a forest, after watching Lily Chou-Chou (which as a Parannoul fan it's blasphemous that I have yet to watch it). Guess it fits with the album's vibe, it's instrumental but very vivid, another one of my favs... I mean, Parannoul is one of my all time fav artists
HS,I: It's one of those debuts that feel to me like the humble beginning of a band that seems innocent but will end up becoming a big star and without knowing anything about their future or reception they just do what they feel like, and it feels so honest. One of the best records of post-rock
Kamisori Otome: Excellent debut from an amazing Japanese folk artist with one of the most angelical voices I've ever heard
Small Circle: Nice really short dreampunk album, lots of dreampunk this week
Blood Bank: All tracks here are great, Bon Iver never missed (except maybe when they worked with the... that guy...)
World is Yours: Still incredible, even if I now love their debut more
Rave Tapes: As much of a rave party a post-rock album can be. Gives me Burial vibes somehow, feel like they do a similar thing that feels like leaving from a party drunk at night and the music is still ringing in your head, expect this is some post-rock here
Origami: One of her weaker albums but there's no such thing as a bad or even mediocre Ichiko Aoba album (maybe that one OST and some collabs were hit or miss but still good)

Artuad: Actually a solo effort of Spinetta that the label forced the band name to be used. It is truly incredible and I really really loved it
ASttS: Years ago, I randomly discovered The Caretaker, EATEOT obviously, but before it blew up. I listened to it much later but all six and a half hours in one sitting. I'll just say it could very well be my all time fav album if it weren't for the fact that I will never listen to it again, for various reasons. But it is one of the most powerful albums I've ever experienced. this is one of his older works and has a track that uses the same sample that ends EATEOT, which nobody is ever ready for. It's a great LP too.
sleepmakeswaves: A promo EP released in US for some tour iirc. Contains some amazing post-rock tracks, even if some appear on another EP of theirs as far as I'm aware. Need to check out more from them, they're great. Maybe they hit harder because I listened to them when I heard the news about Matt from Black Midi
Palepoli: Italian In the Court of the Crimson King. You know what that means
Eternal: Knew this guy before learning he makes music. The EPs I've heard so far are amazing IDM
Pescado: 1st is great, 2nd has a few lower lows than their first but the highs are phenomenal making it better
glyphicon: random discovery from bandcamp, debut is ok, 2nd is beautiful aquatic slushwave
SiSW: Great techno from AFX
Hypnagogia: One of the more unique vaporwave LPs
Midnight Blue: Solid nighttime jazz
CfW: Repetitive but really immersive
INEM,IJDOM: Electroindustrial hyperpop with Bad Apple sample
Vengeance: Alright wintery dreampunk, could be better, sounds really samey. Gets better on the second half.

Blackstar: I still remember when I first heard about his death that day, it was everywhere on the TV and the radio and while people were going on with their days as usual, there was a strange funeral atmosphere, that someone great was lost. Possibly the best final LP, because, what else can top what this album did and how it happened.
神秘的情人: One of telepath's best, beautiful aquatic slushwave always hits great.
Schlagenheim: Yeah, I listened to it when I heard about Matt passing away at 26 and from the way it was worded, I think we all know what they meant happened. I usually don't get affected by artist deaths but when people die so young and in such a way, it does ruin your day. He was really talented and will not be forgotten. Black Midi is still one of the craziest bands in recent years and will go down in history as a classic band. All 3 of theirs are phenomenal, even if Hellfire's my favorite, they all offer their own vibe while still being similar.

Night Road: I discovered desert sand feels warm at night through a YouTube recommendation of his album Dream Desert which has probably my favorite album cover of all time. I immediately fell in love with it, even eventually fully listening to its entire 4 hr runtime in one sitting. DSFWAT is my fav slushwave artist (his dreampunk works are nothing to sneeze at either) and part of it is him innovating the scene with an album like this: sample-free slushwave, his second attempt at that. Honestly, if you didn't tell me, I'd think it's like any other slushwave and I wouldn't mind it, but that just makes everything even more impressive. And this might be my new fav from him (partially due to the runtime being half of dream desert's, 2hrs), it's such a euphoric album, those 2 hrs passed by like a breeze. It's going for a vibe of driving a car, or leaning your head on its window in the backseat and look at the nighttime city and I always love that feeling, perfectly encapsulates it. Highly recommend it
LVDLA: Need to listen to more Alcest cuz I really love what I heard so far
Prisoner: Another DSFWAT, traditional slushwave this time but also one of his best
Hey World: First thing I listened in '26 after a relisten of my album and Freed from this World, needed this lofi slacker rock
Breathless: Awesome fusion of techno and vapor with a shoegaze-like hazy atmosphere. Really loved it
Your Love: Tried and true classic telepath slushwave, nothing crazy but dang great
Leaving: Solid EP, sometimes gives more classic dubstep vibes than usual from Skrillex
Recurring DreamMall: An album made by a guy who listened to my album and liked it (strange how people seem to like it way more than I do), listened to his in return and I really enjoyed it. Pretty good vibe for what it's going for. Also my first 2026 new release listen.

All of them here are really short listens btw
Slow Riot for New Zero Kanada: The best EP of all time because it feels like an actual album. Great entry point to GY!BE and post-rock if you haven't checked them out too
Exit simulation: I've been mentioning on my recently released debut album on its bandcamp page that I was hugely inspired by signalwave during its production, with ideas of short repetitive creepy loops building atmosphere, doing a lot with very little. Infinity Frequencies is the GOAT of signalwave, an absolute master of the genre. Not my fav release of his but still a haunting listen obviously, listened to it for its anniversary today.
ATMOSPHERES 1: Remember back when we weren't quite sure if this was another alias of Blank Banshee, damn this guy's really talented. Love his main alias' works more, they have much more to offer and he's a pioneer of vaportrap but every now and then I have an itch for classic vaporwave and this is one of the best early vaporwave releases imo. Think it's also a little more interesting production wise than some of its contemporaries of that era of vapor.
Freed from this World: Some of the most insane music I've ever listened to. Some may not even want to call it music. It's one of those works of art that feel so alien it's hard to believe a human could think of something like it, for music The Residents come to mind, games like Hylics, films like Tetsuo the Iron Man. #musicsky #topster #weekster stuff I listened to for the first week of 2026, first listens and relistens, from most to least fav and thoughts on alt text. It's been a rather vaporwave week.

Another Sunny Day: Incredibly blissful and uplifting Japanese shoegaze album, really loved it. I've heard of this band before, but only listened to them now.
Just Another Diamond Day: Such a calming folk album, it's kinda pretty much all I like about folk and it really nails it.
Jet Set Radio OST: I mean of course I know about this for a very very long time, I even had played the game before at some point but just sucked at it really bad couldn't figure out the controls and gave up. But this OST genuinely blows a lot of non-soundtrack hip-hop out of the water, insane production that perfectly matches every aspect of the game.
Nebulous You: Another artist I've heard of before but only listen to them now, thought it was going to be some bright Korean dream pop, its backstory is actually pretty dark but despite this it's still executed in such a way were it's all beautiful. Couldn't find translated lyrics though sadly.
4x4: Casiopea rules, actually, Japanese jazz-fusion in general rules. Also just realized how much Asian music I listened to this week
Distant Carols: Really good signalwave with a Xmas but creepy vibe. Signalwave has influenced some of my work, I'm not sure which project I will release first but one of them is pretty signalwavey and is similarly wintery like this
Ascension: Simple concept, done to death in vaporwave, but really well executed like all the albums from this artist.
Yugen: Nowhere near as good as Like a Paperplane that I listened to recently from this artist but still good, just a bit inconsistent perhaps
Gato: Has some lore made for it, that it's supposed to be a 70s easy listening LP made by people who don't actually exist. Perhaps it's a bit convincing on what it's trying to do. Regardless, does it's job as relaxing background music very well
Nematophy: Similarly great background music but vaporwave, longer and perhaps more fleshed out. Windows 96 is one of the best of the vaporwave scene.

Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven: If you've been following me, I also relistened to it about 2 months ago for its 25th anniversary and looking at my profile you'll also notice it's one of my most favorite albums of all time (though that list I have posted is slightly outdated). Definitely never left my top 5, if not top 3, but for those albums the #1 always changes, one day I'll listen to this and say "This is definitely my most fav" then I'll listen to another one like Porter Robinson's Nurture and go "No, this is actually it". Truth is, I love my top 5 equally and each offer a different experience. This LP will always hit the same with me, if it's not even growing even more.
148: Yes, THAT C418, the composer of the original Minecraft soundtrack, of course I was introduced to him from MC, but eventually I ended up listening to even the most obscure and almost lost media releases from him, he's one of my most favorite artists. This is 2 hours of progressive house bangers and while it's full of remixes/throwbacks they're all still great and just doesn't slow down at all, all flows seamlessly. Definitely one of his best albums, despite Daniel not really liking it anymore. Artists hating their old work is nothing new, I'm over here hating my music I haven't even released yet, but I will very very soon, idc about the results, I feel like I have to get something out first and break the curse. Also learned some interesting stuff about this one, but I'll just direct you at the C418 fan wiki for this since I don't have that much space left here.
Furtherworld: Love TURQUOISEDEATH, he's one of the best DnB artists out there rn (and he's younger than me, yes I'm a bit jealous, but he's a great guy, he even follows me on RateYourMusic). These are leftovers from Kaleidoscope sessions but they're all still really good.

Also, I'll release the album i was making sometime next week.

Alone: Well, it's more of your typical Masayoshi Takanka you've come to expect from him, great summer vibe jazz fusion that instantly makes you happy
GATEWAY 2000: Aquatic+Vaporwave go so well together. Loved it way more than I expected, it's so good and perfectly weaves its atmosphere. Probably would go as far as to say it's one of the best vaporwave albums I've listened to
MONO & WEG: Two great bands coming together to make a great album. It's basically one really long song that slowly builds up. Was thinking it would have some of WEG's IDM elements but it's more so classical than anything else. Track 3 and 5 are incredible. Kind of a melancholic listen though so maybe thrives better in the right headspace
Apophenia: Great IDM with a bit of a jazz flavor to it
Eusexua Afterglow: Not as good as the main LP imo, does feel like leftovers but there's still lots of great stuff here too, all her stuff is great regardless
Deadbeat: I've known Tame Impala since Currents, got into him when I was getting into music more seriously and loved him. Lots of people hated this, I don't think it's that bad, but oh damn some songs here are really awful and put a stain on an otherwise fine album. Still, it's fine, catchy, and looks like it means something at least to Kevin Parker, for me, that's enough of a reason for this to exist. I don't even think it's that much of a surprising change for him, but perhaps this could be executed better on his next LP... In 5 more years.

After the Night: Not much to add here, this appeared on another relisten list recently, I just listened to it again because I'm really getting obsessed with it, it might grow to get in my top 5 of all time
WWALY: These guys can't miss, their most interesting album even if it's the weakest, without that meaning it's not phenomenal. Love it's concept, it's hauntingly beautiful.
Time Out: Timeless jazz classic, it's something I feel everyone can enjoy. Also one of the more memorable jazz classics. Great mood
Deliverance: Absolutely mind boggling album, you can't even describe what genre this is, is it IDM? Is it dubstep? Is it nu jazz? Is it prog rock? Just when you start to get it completely changes it's form. One of the best electronic albums of the 2010s
Floral Shoppe: Technically speaking, this album isn't impressive really, if anything, it's rather tacky, but it does what it needs to do perfectly and at the end of the day, it's Floral Shoppe, as much as I love Eccojams or Far Side Virtual more than this, it's the most important release and the true final catalyst that spawned vaporwave, a genre I really love. And man, listening to it after all these years it was really nostalgic. It hit harder than it ever did before, I believe it's an extremely important LP and to me, the soundtrack of the internet
FLT: Love toe, great math rock band, pretty chill and cozy while staying interesting with their instrumentation. This grew on me a lot
ACBC: Again, appeared in a previous list, this time rewatched the film too
VibRibbon: This game & OST are so unique, I really love them
TBF: I was late to get into Mogwai so this was my first from them, still think it's their weakest but it's still really great. Call me crazy but it kinda sounds like if Daft Punk made a post-rock LP
Hologram Person: Infinity Frequencies is one of the best vapor artists, definitely the king of this niche signalwave, got the best the subgenre can offer

Lamp: Knew this band for a very long time, sometime last year I listened to At Komorebi St. and I was looking forward to get into them more. I absolutely loved this one, it's one of those records that puts a smile on your face, incredible atmosphere, cover art looks like a painting i have in my house too. Instantly became one of my all time favs
El Indio: Gives me a similar spiritual experience akin to Yes' Close to the Edge, incredible album
Timely: Stellar summer vibe city pop
Jolly Jive: Kinda similar to the previous one, love Takanaka, another artist that never fails to not make you smile
Heavy Metal: In case you don't know, no, it's actually a folk LP by the guy from Geese. His voice may be an acquired taste to some, I think there's a certain charm, his lyrics can also get abstract/symbolic at times. It's an amazing LP I missed checking it out last year (though I also only listened to Geese this year with their new LP), some tracks hit really hard
Nujabes: Finished watching Samurai Champloo, OST might be my favorite part of the anime, great stuff, Spiritual State is also a good posthumous release although his weakest
HWTB: Love Big Thief, solo Lenker's nice too
Bomber Minmi: Really fun and lovely
DECT: This band's really underrated imo, remind me a bit of 65dos but more blissful and experimental
Burial: The compilation is phenomenal, Antidawn is underrated and while there are some mehs there's still some great singles from 2020s, also love the 4tet collab cuz I love 4tet
toe: Kinda forest vibe
Long Goodbye: Been on an overdose of Japanese shoegaze lately, great regardless
TZ: First time checking him out, banger EP
Angels Egg: Much prefer You but this is still great
WA: Technically had listened to half of the LP ages ago, finished it now, solid hard rock
AtCoAI: Better than the debut, underrated, stellar space rock
Night Lights: Normally a vaporwave artist, that's some Vangelis-esque ambient
T&T: A bit mixed, mostly good, not a fan of the vocals

Windswept Adan: I hope Bsky wont auto-censor it because of the cover, absolutely spellbinding record, one of my most favs of all time
An Insatiable High: My fav Takanaka record, probably because it's the one that introduced me to him -other than the All of Me compilation, iirc that's how I discovered him, got randomly recommended and said "OMG that's the hardest cover art of all time" (and it is), haven't listened to the comp since I'm an LP guy so ""comps take away form the real LP experience"", anyway, keeps growing on me, love it to bits
Oxygene: Yeah, no way this is almost 50 years old, I don't buy that, still hits like it did the first time I listened to it
Rubber Soul: The Beatles
Ricochet: One of Tangerine Dream's best albums and it's a live record
Fauxllennium: Listened to it last year because of George Clanton and loved it far more than I expected, still think it's a bop, really love its vibe. Idk that much about TV Girl, heard mixed thoughts online about them but might eventually check them out too
Charlie Brown Xmas: Kinda cheating here, I put it on in the background on a relatively low volume (for some reason) while decorating for Xmas so it wasn't such an active listen, but I remember it along with the film being really great. I don't think you needed my word for it though
Octopus: Recently listened to their debut, now this again and I remembered how the only other album of theirs I've listened to is Power & Glory, need to check out more from them, but I really like this one, my fav from them so far.

ORS: Really fun and cute, great production too
ATM: Kauan is a band I knew for a while now but I only listened to them now, this was the first one I picked, it sounds really beautiful, was expecting a bit of a different sound because I've heard they started as a metal band. Anyway, liked it a lot more than I expected
HRSTA: I've heard of this GY!BE side project before but only now did I check them out, it's their debut and it's incredible, love its atmosphere, if I compared it to GY!BE it gives F#A# vibes.
HM,HM,DIA: Really love Tim Hecker, it's been a while since I've went to check out an album of his I've not listened to before. It's his debut and it's his chillest, most straight-forward ambient LP I've heard from him, compared to how crazy and attention grabbing a lot of his later works can be, but I like it, it's got a wintery vibe.
Lives Ruined: An early EP by OPN, he dropped a new LP yesterday, didn't have the time to listen to that one in full but listened to the first few tracks and it sounds phenomenal, but onto the EP, it's one of his best early works since those can be a bit mixed I think
U2: Still don't get the hate for this band, this is really cool, I mean U2 slander's a more recent phenomena, back in the day I knew them as a respected classic band
Gaucho: SD got a great vibe
Wayhome: Kauan's new LP, more ambienty, still nice, should check out more from them
demo 02: better than the first, crazy genre blending of shoegaze and stuff like atmo dnb
BitO: Early OPN LP, interesting stuff, better than some say it is
Shimizu: Not the biggest punk guy here but it's a fun EP
First: ev.exi gets better after this but it's still one of the better and most creative future funk releases.

ASF: Still come back to this LP, one of my most fav from this year and a great comeback from a band that's cementing themselves into the post-rock pantheon. Gets better with each listen
Dive: Really love Tycho, some folks don't respect him, or rather them since it became a band from here on, that much, but the majority of electronic music fans will tell you they love Tycho. Back then I wasn't that much into music, if I listened to something and it wasn't stuff that my family listens to or soundtracks, I'd listen to electronic music, preferably chill stuff like this. So there is nostalgia for Tycho, but I still find them to be a very creative blend of downtempo/chillwave with some post-rock influences. They were very big and influential in the 2010's, really iconic
200%: One of the best George Clanton projects and one of the very best of the vaporwave scene, incredible atmosphere, keeps growing on me
Alive 07: Do I need to say anything about this one?
Adventure: Again, more nostalgia for 2010's EDM, excellent production, really catchy, it's not just nostalgia it really is great.
ANATO: Forgot how good it is since it's been a while since I listened to Queen, it's a classic
Good Faith: His 2nd LP, different style, he keeps evolving especially nowadays, used to like it more than his 1st, nowadays prefer his 1st but both are great
On: Some of AFX's best
Darkside: Better than I remember, but they also got better with other releases
mini mix 2: MagBay makes peak pop
Celine: Yeah I did a full refresh on Madeon's main discography I guess, weaker than I remember, it really seems like a side project, but it is good. I expected when he said his next era is darker it'd be like this, but he meant bloghouse punk-style, let's see how it will be!

Garden of Delete: Damn, I sometimes forget that OPN is just an alien who makes otherworldly masterpieces, this album is insane. Somehow feels like a metal and hyperpop style Replica or R Plus Seven. Definitely one of his best. Will try to listen to some of his other stuff that I haven't already since he's dropping a new LP soon and I'm pretty excited about it. Hopefully I wont miss it like I did with 40% of 2025 albums I wanted to check out but still haven't.
Heaven knows: Most complete sounding project of hers, makes sense since this is a formal debut studio LP, while her mixtapes are very fun too this is probably her best project imo. She makes incredibly, catchy pop with creative dnb and garage influences.
OASYS: Cat System Corp is one of those classic names of vaporwave, but I haven't heard that much from him, I did recognize the cover of this one, remember it popping up on my YT recommended videos years ago. Has a pretty, aquatic sound.
Jungle: Another of his albums, under a different alias, now a new age ambient album, very serene, entrancing and well made.
OYS: Heard that's a big and important rock band in China, found some translated lyrics and they also seem very interesting and well written, music's nice and creative too. They made another LP a decade later that I'd like to check out at some point. Great stuff!
Power In That Which Compels You: Another OPN project, some collab with a free jazz artist, it's not really that good tbh and OPN feels barely involved but I saw a comedic review on RateYourMusic that made my day and makes the album way better than it actually is. This is goose final boss music.

After the Night: Parannoul's one of my all time fav artists and every time I listen to him I love him even more. This is one of the best live LPs I know of, the performances of the first already great tracks are still stellar but anyone who knows of this LP knows what the deal is, the 10min long Into the Endless Night extended to 46min epic. This seriously is one of the greatest songs of all time, keeps growing on me more and more, idk if it will ever dethrone Pink Floyd's Shine On You Crazy Diamond, but it still is such a moving journey, man I was literally sweating relistening to it and thinking about it at midnight while my body was vibrating, it's insane what music can do to you. It is a live LP but it's in my top 10 fav records of all time
STATE'S END: I mean all GY!BE's stuff are basically masterpieces but I forgot how phenomenal this one is, grew on me so much, my top 2 GY!BE still are LYSF and F#A# but nowadays my 3 is NO TITLE and now this one is 4. It feels like THE GY!BE LP combining elements of all their eras
Nujabes: Both are beautiful and make my day
SAW85-92: Alien music
DoFP: Sounds like a golden era Disney classic, magical
Replica: More alien music
LT: Still probably the weakest GY!BE LP but still incredible, also grew on me more
Those Who Tell the Truth: Their darkest sounding LP while still retaining rays of hope, wish they had more dynamic LPs like this but all EITS are good, this is one of their best
FiP: Had a random itch for this, love HOME, really nostalgic nowadays for me
Pink: Crazy noise rock, love the slower stuff
Signalis: I know the game, haven't played it, but the Memory OSTs are great
R35TT: We really don't know how versetile BoC actually are and what they're capable of
Flume: Way better than I remember, grew on me a lot, the song Insane lives up to its name
Monument: A transitional LP for them, I like the direction they went with and they got better with the new LP
Someone Close: Solid house EP, dig it

freeform jazz: If you take a look at my profile's topsters you'll probably think I listen to way too much music, looking at my catalogue where I keep track of everything I listen to on RateYourMusic I've listened to well over 2,5k releases. You might be thinking "Don't you get burnt out?" Yes, yes I do and then I can't really enjoy music as much as I normally do. This gets fixed after a break or trying something new. Well, for some reason this LP fixed my listener's block and it felt like how it was when I first fell in love w/ music. It's so simple, it's just a jazzy instrumental hip-hop LP you'd probably put as bg music but it's so excellently crafted and it just came at the right moment I guess to really hit and it felt so beautiful it genuinely made me tear up a bit around the end. I think it's an incredible album, I really really loved it!
Amor Amarillo: Bocanada is one of my all time fav LPs, have heard some of Soda Stereo too, Gustavo Cerati's really great!
Mammal Hands: I think a lot of people tend to focus on older jazz so I checked out a couple more modern releases. I'm no jazz expert but I think this band's really great. Shadow Work especially got some amazing songs.
Tri Repetae: It's been a while since I put on some Ae, love IDM, early Ae have a brighter sound that I really like.
Black Focus: Another modern jazz album, this one's pretty funky
Games: Didn't know OPN was involved on this, no wonder I really liked it!
Luxury Problems: Randomly listened to Faith in Strangers sometime last year and loved it, heard by some this is his best, still prefer that other one but that's great too. Andy Stott gives me Burial vibes for some reason.
Dream Select: Knew about this artist, he knows how to make some Y2K style AtmoDnB
chiptek: heard of this artist before, they got a bunch of short electronic albums, something abt the cover art pisses me off but music's good
full body 2: really unique shoegaze
NewJeans: Idk why I listened to them but they're okay, not crazy

Meddle: The very first album I ever listened to, or at least the first one I got to choose when I started my music journey. It's the one that immediately made me fall in love with music, with Pink Floyd and with progressive rock. Back then my early teens brain could not fathom the existence of a song that's over 20 minutes long, Echoes completely blew my mind and still does to this day, it's one of my all time fav songs and the LP as a whole is too one of my most favs, still holds up the same. Idc how you guys meme on Seamus (that's the dog) even that song's cool
TEINACDP: While I was aware of post-rock before that point, I got into the genre a bit later with GY!BE and other more advanced bands that are praised by circles like RYM who claim they love post-rock but if you show them an album like this they frown upon it. However, almost all post-rock fans outside of the RYM echochamber will tell you EITS are titans of the genre. They are seemingly much simpler than a band like GY!BE but that does not mean they don't carry the same amount of emotional punch. When I was first getting into EITS this was the one that immediately clicked and adored it and relistening to it again made me love it even more. It is incredible!
Yanqui: Speaking of GY!BE, probably my #1 fav band I think all their stuff are phenomenal too. This one kinda slightly dropped because it's one of their more monotonously mournful sounding records so I discovered I need to be in the right mood but it still is incredibly powerful obviously and I adore it
mbv: One of the dreamiest LPs out there
Untrue: Rarely read stuff but I'm occasionally reading a manga called BLAME! and Burial fits so well with it, try this combo if you like
Amber: Again, love early Ae
Autobahn: One of the most important albums ever made, still holds up incredibly well imo
Elaenia: Forgot how good this is, and how jazzy it gets, FP is incredible
RDJ: Shows how versetile he is
Slowdive: Some of hte most epic shoegaze

Kagayaki: I've been wanting to listen to this one for a very long time, at some point in the past I tried to listen to it but only got 2 tracks deep, it's a long album, about 2 hours long. But now that I listened to it in its entirety I really love it and it will probably have a spot somewhere on my all time fav records list. It's beautiful and blissful. No wonder I love it since apparently it inspired probably my -as of this year's relistens- all time fav album Nurture by Porter Robinson.
M83: Another one I've wanted to listen to since forever. Really love its vibe though I think I didn't love it as much as I could because I was feeling quite tired the day I listened to it, should relisten to it at some point.
Ommadawn: He manages to create some very impressive atmospheres.
Uma: Wow, these guys are pretty great, I should check out more of their stuff.
to hell with it: Short mixtape of fun pop music with very interesting production and influences.
Forget: One of those standout future funk records, sounds pretty different from your average future funk release, seems more Bloghouse inspired and I sense a hint of Justice here too.

TCH: I swear, one of these days it will become my favorite BoC LP, such an incredible and relaxing vibe.
MYT: The last of the main Mogwai LPs I listened to in my recent marathon and one of those albums I've been wanting to listen to for a long time. Still love it, believe it has solidified its place in my all time favs, though I want to check if I still prefer Happy Songs for Happy People over it. But yeah, incredible album, Mogwai Fear Satan is one of the greatest post-rock songs ever.
Mahoroboshiya: Her second best imo, right behind Windswept Adan. Feels like being in a forest at night during autumn and just relaxing. Also found translated lyrics, but apparently all her lyrics have always been pretty abstract and vague so maybe it doesn't change things that much, it's up to how we feel about her music, what it means to us I guess.
KKB: Simple but really fun. Yesterday I noticed something, I always kinda took the cover art for granted but it somehow struck me how much of a sincere and sweet smile Sarah has here, like she could just do a quick fake one for the pose, but you can just see how much fun she and definitely the other two had making their music.
Feels: Forgot how wild this album can get, used to be my fav, nowadays I prefer MPP, but it's still one of their very best. Loch Raven's atmosphere is incredible, reminds me of Kid A.
HiUV: Chimeras always sounded a bit like a song I made and I made it before even knowing about Tim Hecker. Another one of his best.
Electric Ladyland: Incredibly ahead of its time
LC: More of the same with the other record here from her, love the concept of this, one of my most fav of '25
Orange: 3rd best Fishmans LP
45:33: Might be their best song, but the song itself is a whole album so does it also make it their best LP? Idk my fav is S/T.
S&G: I love them, all their LPs are amazing
Nowhere: Grew on me significantly, still prefer their 2nd.
Yuki: The first betcover LP I listened to, still my fav, need to listen to more from them.

Albums I listened to this week, first listens and relistens, from most to least favorite. My thoughts on alt text.

EITS: Listened to the remaining Explosions in the Sky albums, very solid discography, AOASIME is nearly if not equally as good as TEINACDP (if not better). The later works are slightly different and sometimes hit or miss but still great.
Zaman Zaman: Wonderful album, didn't expect to love it this much.
PotS: First time listening to MONO, way better than I expected, especially the last couple of tracks are very beautiful
FFE: An album I've been meaning to listen to for a while, some kinda BoC vibes, I just really like this style of IDM
Earth Division EP: The more I listen to Mogwai the more I love them, plan to listen to more soon.
TWDY: Listened to their debut a while back, forgot how good they are, need to check out the rest.
LDK: Only listened to this and the one before it released in the same year, really fun vibe.
65dos: Had only listened to OTFAT before, forgot how insane they are, some of the best and most creative post rock bands out there, they deserve more praise.
Mignonne: A more laid back city pop record
ETE: Has EITS vibes but is it's own thing and it's nice
TBOWYB: Been meaning to listen to them, great synthpop
MDG&SS: Keep confusing My Dead Girlfriend with World End's Girlfriend, but both are great bands, same with the other one on this split LP.
Versus: Post-rock with some electronics
Seclusion: Randomly found it and I liked it
AoA: Have to check out more artists from my country, they have a nice fusion of stoner rock and some of our regional music. Can get repetitive at times but remains interesting
Origins: Feels Mogwai HSFHP inspired but still GIAA
Deer Leap: Emo+post rock seems to be meant to be together, the other band of the split LP is great too and I've been meaning to check them out
BFM: Can be a bit of a mixed bag but has some good footwork
FPA: Another band I wanted to get into, this is good but maybe not all their experiments hit that well all the time here

#musicsky #topster #weekster stuff i listened to for the first time this week (only had 2 relistens so I'm not using a separate list for Endtroducing and Paraglow, love both, the latter grew a lot on me), from most to least fav. It's been a mostly post rock week I guess. Thoughts on alt text.

EITS: Listened to more by them, TEINACDP is worth the hype, it's really beautiful I immediately loved it and it might have ended up as one of my all time fav records. The Rescue is nice too, like the backstory
Sakura: Gorgeous ambient album
PtP: Been waiting for Maruja's debut for a long time, they delivered, honestly arguably pioneering for post-rock
TLS: Fun album to lighten your mood
kyawk: another great debut LP
WA: Incredible breaks album
COTC: Been meaning to listen to Supertramp for a long time, great one, RIP Rick Davies
Plone: love this kind of IDM albums
Odesza: Great production, the guests+lyrics are hit or miss.
News at 11: vaporwave classic, but it gets repetitive and tiring after a while
London Juke: more good stuff from him, but he can do better
Teenage Poetry: Been meaning to check it out for a long time and was looking forward to it, heard great stuff about it. Finally listened to it the other day and felt conflicted. It is powerful and I totally understand if it means something to someone, but there's so many things wrong with it, I don't have much space to explain, just read any critical review of it and you'll understand why this is a terribly unethical and pretentious album. Really disappointed and sucks because I really wanted to love it.

WYWH: Can't believe this album is 50 years old, from the first moment I listened to it it blew my mind and still does to this day, there's just something about it I can't describe how I feel about it. For the longest time it was my #1 fav of all time and may still be, it's just that there was some worthy competition in recent years. SOYCD is the greatest song ever recorded.
Takk: Happy 20th anniversary, forgot how beautiful this album is. Relistened to it and found translated lyrics (for the tracks that have actual lyrics and not "Vonlenska" their made up language) and it made me appreciate it more, grew on me a lot.
CttE: Prog rock was the genre that got me into music, still one of my most fav genres, so of course I love Yes and this album specifically, there's something spiritual about it, it's completely out of this world.
AFLP1: Feels like your last high school year's summer, where you get lost in thoughts about what happened, what didn't happen, what you're glad about, what you regret, the people you met and how they've shaped you. Reflects a specific period in my life
SJ: The more I listen to AnCo, the more I get them and the more they hit
KKB: Their best project prolly. When is their next album exactly?
Imagine: has some duds but its worth it just for the great tracks alone.
AFX: 19.09.14: Some of his best stuff, Collapse: eeh.
PT: You can tell they're having fun
Odesza: Nice nostalgic relic of a bygone era of electronic music
2814: it's fine but they've got better stuff.

#musicsky #topster #weekster stuff I listened to this week, first listens + relistens, from most to least fav, this time with a new gimmick: the lower ones are still great, but the one alone in the corner indicates I dislike it. Thoughts on alt text.

Those Who Tell The Truth...: EITS is undoubtedly one of the greats of post-rock, they're considered titans on the genre's pantheon by most fans, yet before this I had only listened to their debut. This is the second one I'm listening to by them, their second album, I didn't intend necessarily to go chronologically, it just happened to have an anniversary so I listened to it, but I guess I'll move on like this since their next one is considered their best by many. This one's also considered one of their best, their #1 best to some. It's darker than their debut and feels deeper too. It's incredible but I know I'll love it more with relistens.
Every Country's Sun: More post-rock, this time from Mogwai, another post-rock giant and another band I've been meaning to get into for a long time and from the stuff I've listened to by them so far, they actually have potential to become one of my most fav bands in general. Another great one by them. Old Poisons feels like it comes out of nowhere but I love it, it's got a Swans vibe.
Kai=Kai: Checking out even more from Hirasawa, this guy's so good.
Double Infinity: Always like me some nice folk record, a great one from this year.
上海/香港: I own this on bc via a free code I got a while back, nice dreampunk ambient LP, desert sand feels warm at night is involved.
Groundhog: I know PRS for a long time but only now listening to his music, great IDM stuff.
Bronze Claw Iso: More like last year's LP by him that I loved, this one's great too, such a wild sound.

Excursions: More people need to listen to more C418 that isn't just the Minecraft OST. This guy's got so many hidden gems. This is one of my all time fav album, amazing house/chillout record, quite a grand journey.
Plantasia: One of those albums I feel everybody can love. But I personally love love love it. Wasn't feeling that well when I went to relisten to it but it immediately put a smile on my face, another one of my all time favorites.
WDYW!: If and until we get a Porter Robinson x Parannoul collab (that would make me scream like a little girl and then give me a heart attack), acloudyskye will do very well. He's so good, he deserves more attention. Already loved this album but now it grew on me a lot more. It's one of those records that feels like it was made for me.
Hope: One of the best concept albums ever made that never got the attention and praise it deserves. Incredible album, highly recommend if you're looking for concept albums or prog.
Nala Sinephro: Knew her before she got more popular already from her debut. Both albums are some of the best modern jazz out there, love the fusion with ambient and electronics, so relaxing.
Toxicity: Not the biggest metalhead, but the only music nerd friend I have is one, he recommended me to listen to it and it's one of those rare metal LPs that I truly adore.
Molchat Doma: I need some more time but I think their latest album might be their best, just that Etazhi's got a special vibe.
HS,I: Chill post-rock from a legendary band. Need to get more into them.
AtD: One of the best PF related projects.
BB0: Vaporwave classic, it's old enough to be nostalgic for nostalgic vaporwave music.
AMLOR: Better than people say it is
L&S: Surprise comeback that was surprisingly great, has a quite myserious aura to it for me for some reason.

Stuff I listened to this week, first listens and relistens, from most to least fav, thoughts on some of these on alt text.
This time there's more relistens and I listened to more stuff than I thought I would since I'm busy but it's been fun.

ADP: Considered an EP so I was just expecting a short record with nice folk songs. Instead it's 1 hour long and honestly my fav Sufjan record. I'm still missing a couple of his "essentials" and I'm especially looking forward to Age of Adz after seeing how excellent he pulled off all the prog elements on this EP. Title track and the closer are godly.
JVB: Liked the duo's previous works, they're fun and goofy, just sometimes after a while they can potentially get a bit annoying (remember losing half of my braincells when I heard the jojo reference on a track off their first LP). I was looking forward to this, though I did hear they had different plans for this one. It far exceeded my expectations: the dance parts are bangers and the sad parts hit like a train, at least for me personally, maybe it came at the right moment since I too feel the absolute pain of becoming senile (being in your 20s). One of the best from this year.
RMP: Got this recommended as similar to Isaac era BCNR except this imo is if Isaac was actually great vocally and lyrically (still love AFUT, but I can't deny it can be rough around the edges, but he did improve from the debut). Loved it, another one of the best from this year.
Hirasawa: I've been meaning to check him out for a very long time, finally did and yep, he's incredible.
Bent: They continue to impress me, why are these guys not talked about more often?
M&A: One of telepath's best under any alias
OBSERVATORY: Excellent record, not what I was expecting, also unexpected that vmrrobotic followed me on RYM.
Drama: Probably quite underrated in their discography
Drive my Car: Great film with a great OST
D&W: Quirky and fun, but prefer some other stuff from them, punk is kinda a hit or miss genre for me, but it's a classic obviously, whatever's low here doesn't mean it's bad, I wouldn't bother listening to stuff I wouldn't enjoy, I just have to place some lower.
Can: Extremely historically important album, but they got better.

Stuff I listened to this week, from most to least fav. Didn't manage to have any relistens this week other than for the 30th anniversary of Boards of Canada's Twoism but I'm not putting a single album topster obviously for this.

fade: WOW! I wasn't expecting to love it this much! One of the best shoegaze albums out there!
RoR2: I know the game though I've not played it, decided to check it out because the composer is Greek like I am and because from what it was described to me as, it sounded like something I'd love. And I certainly loved it. Almost too good for just a soundtrack honestly. Good to see musicians from my country that are something other than metal bands.
Anyway: Anamanaguchi is a band I've known for almost all my life yet I somehow never listened to them until now (excluding their work for Scott Pilgrim stuff). Another album I didn't expect to love so much. Need to check out more from them.
Midtown 120 Blues: There's that one guy I follow who has this as his pfp. Been meaning to listen to this for a long time. Didn't love it as much as I expected but I still love it a lot, a house classic for sure.
THTTD: Probably became my 2nd most fav Cure LP behind Disintegration. I forget how I need to check more from these guys, their comeback last year was really great.
Cosmic Messenger: Phenomenal jazz fusion album, love its atmosphere.
ILMC: Same. Is 2010's style electronic music becoming trendy again though? I'm happy if it is.
Off the Wall: Used to always listen to MJ songs when I was a kid, this is the third LP I listen to from him, took me long enough to get into his LPs.
ABABS: Cities Aviv is taking hip hop to another level.
Nearly God: Trippy and almost nightmarish.
EVO EVO: I was aware of Moe Shop for a long time, checked out their new EP along with one of his older ones. Judging from these 2, he got way better, this EP is better than I expected, great house and future funk stuff.

F♯ A♯ ∞: Absolute cinematic experience, one of my most favorite albums and really high up on my list. I do prefer LYSFLATH a bit more thought.
Worlds: Extremely nostalgic, all the melodies are burned into my head, another one of my most favorite albums.
Asunder: Relistened to it for its 10th anniversary... though I'm painfully late. It is considered one of GY!BE's weaker works but I always loved it and thought it was great. However it truly clicked with me when I relistened to it. Such a beautiful yet underrated and misunderstood album. It's their simplest, most minimalistic and droney work but there's a beauty to it I can't explain quickly here, I wrote a review for it today that you can find on my Rate Your Music and Album of the Year profiles (RYM: CookieMan, AOTY: MrCookiething)
Eccojams: Unironically one of the most important albums of the 21st century. Seemingly a goofy little experiment that's almost a joke instead of fading into obscurity resonated with people and sparked the creation of vaporwave. Very surreal and fever dreamish album.
Life Changing Moments: C418's works outside of the Minecraft OST are all underrated, it's a great and chill IDM record that turned 15 recently.

It's their simplest, most minimalistic and droney work but there's a beauty to it I can't explain quickly here, I wrote a review for it today that you can find on my Rate Your Music and Album of the Year profiles (RYM: CookieMan, AOTY: MrCookiething) Eccojams: Unironically one of the most important albums of the 21st century.

Thoughts on some of these records on alt text.

Quebec: Been meaning to listen to this for a very long time, finally did, it's awesome obviously, though I personally prefer The Mollusk. There's tracks here though that are better than ones on The Mollusk.
From Filthy Tongue of Gods and Griots: Had listened to Absence before, not entirely sure which of the two I prefer, but man this group is insane. More hip-hop should be more experimental.
Canción Animal: Prefer Gustavo Cerati's solo album Bocanada above the 2 Soda Stereo albums I've listened to, it's in my top 50 all time fav albums either way, but these are really great too.
폐점: Phenomenal vaporwave album, didn't expect it to be so good.
Quiet Storms: Interesting concept, about a child experiencing heavy weather through TV broadcasts, kinda gives me Boards of Canada vibes for that. Could have expected some more, like for it to get heavier, but it's really great regardless.
Hidden Lands: Pretty underrated, love its atmosphere
Rainbow: Knew most songs, so pretty much just discovered its deep cuts, a classic.
Mid-Air Thief/Bird's Eye Batang/Shadow Community projects: Checked out the rest of his works, great stuff, love glitchy wonky IDM like Flood Format.
Sinner Get Ready: Powerful and moving, though I'm not always in the mood for such music.
E: Skee Mask does it again like usual
telepath album: Prefer the previous 2 from this year, but its great and I love its cover art.
Stooges: Like their next 2 LPs more
ekkolaptomenos: Like her 2nd LP but more consistent and better executed, reaches the greatness of her 1st LP.

Microphones in 2020: Still hits like it did when I first listened to it. His best album imo and in my top 50 all time fav records.
Sky Hundred: I realized Parannoul provides not only translated lyrics but also states the meaning of the albums on his bandcamp page. While I already loved his work, discovering that helped me appreciate Sky Hundred so much more, it's genuinely a masterpiece, grew on me so much and it might break into my top 50 albums OAT.
Fantasma: Can't explain why or how but this album feels like drinking some fresh cold orange soda.
Revolver: The Beatles.
Future Days: Best Can album imo, Bel Air is just too good. And all the other tracks slap as well.
Piper at the Gates of Dawn: Pink Floyd's my fav band, I love all their stuff but diving a bit deeper into this album I realized that while still whimsical, it's a bit darker than I thought at times.
Mid-Air Thief/Hyoo projects: His Hyoo EPs are better than a lot of people say they are, such a great vibe, already a great start to his career. Relistening to the 2 main Mid-Air Thief LPs made me love both way more. Wish I could find translated lyrics for them too.

I realized I don't need to add long threads to my post to comment on some albums like I usually do and I can just do that on Alt text on the images.

Stuff I listened to for the first time this week, from most to least favorite. Really really loved the top 7 or so here (can't even decide how to rank the top 3), the rest are great too, though I wasn't particularly crazy about the last 4. Need to get more into trance.

Stuff I listened to this week, some relistens, most for the first time, from most to least fav. I had only listened to Stereolab's Emperor Tomato Ketchup which is quite high up in my all time favs so decided to finish their discography since they're dropping soon...
