Who's eligible? Roughly 150,000 more residents are now eligible for testing in portions of Cumberland, Bladen, Robeson, Sampson, Hoke, and Harnett Counties. If you rely on a private well for drinking water, consider contacting Chemours. Residents interested in having their wells samples should call Chemours at 910-678-1101 or fill out Chemour's online form at https://edataroom.uspioneer.com/ChemoursNC

Why this matters. Testing near the facility showed that PFAS contamination from the plant may have spread further than previously thought. PFAS are toxic chemicals linked to serious health problems, like cancer, live damage, and immune system issues. PFAS are known as "forever chemicals" making them difficult to remove from soil, water, and our bodies.
