For a span of 40 days, many Americans who rely on SNAP repeatedly voiced support for enduring the suffering so long as something came of it. On November 10th, the Senate failed them.

If we give up now, their suffering will only grow. We must fight for them. Everyone deserves to eat.

They escaped because a student warned them they were on The List. As teachers, they were considered a threat.

I grew up deeply immersed in the VERY RECENT history of Siberian prison camps. Of our language & literature being suppressed.

Around 1.2m people in the US have HIV. It immensely, negatively impacts lives, shortens lifespans and renders sufferers more vulnerable to other ailments. On Oct. 8, it was announced we have a means to neutralize 98.5% of over 300 strains. If we give up, this treatment may be lost.

I didn't do mine because I found Taylor's but I found hers searching the tag and I wanna share it with you all. Please consider making your own #WHYiFight list, even if just to remind yourself what's at stake.

The Voting Rights Act of 1965 prohibited racial discrimination in voting, but it was only passed after years of threats, murder and violence against black communities. Conservatives don't view black Americans as people. If we give up, everything they fought for will be undone.

On August 18, 1920, after the long struggle of the women's suffrage movements, the 19th Amendment was ratified and granted women the ability to vote. Conservatives don't want women to vote, and if we give up now, they'll have their way.

On June 26, 2015, the Supreme Court struck down all bans on gay marriage and it was legalized nation-wide. But these protections - and the countless marriages of gay couples - will not survive if we do not fight and take back this country. Love is love when it harms none.

In 1995, wolves were re-introduced to Yellowstone, and with proper monitoring and protections, their numbers have almost fully recovered. However wolf poaching still takes place despite their protected status in some states. No doubt they'll lose this status if we don't fight for it.

Over 343,000 children are in the foster care system in the USA. Without ensuring that our government is taken control of again, these kids are left adrift and without adequate protections. They need us to keep fighting, not only for them, but for their futures.

There are 63 National Parks in the United States. If we give up the fight, these parks will be in danger. Forest fires will run unchecked, our endangered wildlife will go extinct, and protected land will be sold off to the highest bidder. We must fight to protect them.

I dream of re-taking America and not just building it back, but building it better. I believe that we can achieve a better, less-hateful future. I believe we can peel away the layers of abuse, injustice and bigotry. I believe that we can do it, so we must fight to get there.

Speaking of what I'm fighting for, I wanna make a series of things that keep me motivated. I'll probably tag it under #WHYiFIGHT

Things that remind me to never give up, things I love, things I'm grateful for... Cuz there's a lot.

I did not give birth to these 2 but "Auntie Jenny" couldn't love them more. I will give my life for them. #WhyIfight

I’m here because there is no me today without the countless people seen and unseen who helped me get here. When you’re overwhelmed by all of this remember why you fight, catch your breath and stand back up to fight again. Because without them there is no us. #whyIfight

I’m here because not everybody can fight for themselves and everyone deserves to have a stranger in their corner, even if you don’t know it’s happening. Someone sees your struggle and is fighting for you when you’re too tired. #whyIfight

I’m here because while I have a relative handle on my ADHD, I know many people with disabilities both visible and not visible that deserve to be fairly accommodated for. #whyIfight

I’m here because once a homeless man (gauche, I know but I don’t love the term unhoused) saved my life from a life threatening allergic reaction and that literal hero still doesn’t have a home. #whyIfight

I’m here because as a person who is pretty economically comfortable currently, I love people who are not and never have been. #whyIfight

I’m here because long before I ever sat on a therapy couch for my people pleasing tendencies, I loved a Palestinian friend who literally scared off a would be attacker because I was too scared to stand up for myself. #whyIfight

I’m here because I learned Black History every day as a child, but I love black people that don’t grow up with a grandmother that reminded them of our people’s amazing and rich history. #whyIfight

I’m here because I while I married a man that is a stellar husband by all accounts, I love women who haven’t been so lucky and this administration would make it harder for them to leave already difficult to leave situations. #whyIfight

I’m here because I love a person who is immunocompromised. That person deserves the right to a normal life not being threatened by diseases we functionally eradicated 60 years ago because some people are afraid of science. #whyIfight
