#Wigeons are beautifully colored birds, albeit a bit shy. They kept their distance for sure. For me its the first time seeing and #photographing one, pretty cool I think

Standing on a snowy shoreline in the centre of the photo, looking directly at me, is a beautiful female American Wigeon. Her throat, upper chest and flanks are a gorgeous cinnamon colour, while her underbelly is white and her head grayish. On the left side of the frame is her mate, with his bill open squawking at me. His underparts are a purplish brown, his throat gray, and his head green on the sides with a broad white stripe running from his gray beak over his crown.
