Trent drops the name of the Red Thread, responsible for an attack on the king himself (the Black Diamonds, a gang, started that). He denounces them as traitors. He blames them for torturing Maynard. He projects images of the Red Thread in the sky.

The Red Thread arrive at the courtyard for the Assembly's speech. There are righteous brand, crownsguard, and volstrucker everywhere. Valac sees 3 invisible scourgers on rooftops around. 2pm arrives, and Trent Ikithon steps forward with Astrid and Eadwulf in tow.

Florian and Mel head to the Finish Line where they find Ace, a tiefling member of the Golden Grin. They proceed to speak in grinner codes about current events. The grinners are on a pause during the turmoil - the scourgers are causing problems for everyone.

Meanwhile, Florian and Mel seek out leads for the Golden Grin. They are pointed to a tavern called The Finish Line. In the psychic group chat, there is chaos, and Aggie from across town tells them to shut up. They find the hideout intact, miraculously.

In the Vine, a disguised Valac speaks to previous coworkers to find out if they blabbed about Valac's whereabouts. The bartender recognises Valac's voice. The Assembly threatened the Vine, but not much information was divulged. Valac modifies his memory - 'you never saw me.'

The party splits to cover more ground in Rexxentrum. Valac, Kismet, and Florian head to the Vine, a brothel where Valac used to work. There's speculation on the streets that the speech the Cerberus Assembly is giving later is related to the war.
