The SS Empire #Windrush arrived at Tilbury docks on 22 June 1948 w/passengers from across the Caribbean. From 1948-1970, half a million people moved from the Caribbean to the #UK. These people were vital workers post WW2. They brought new cultures & sounds: calypso, reggae, soul. #WindrushDay2025
