When one recipe fails - sometimes back to basics w/ remaining ingredients is better!
Was trying nappa "tacos" recipe but I didn't cut the cabbage right when prepping so the first few didn't go well (still tasty)...
So made nappa Ssam with the remaining raw nappa & cooked protein!

Made some creamy kimchi miso gnocchi with ground pork, mushroom, onions, chopped kimchi, and shiro miso (the lighter and slightly sweeter one)!

Did a hack using premade biscuit dough. Family likes the savory more but enjoyed both!

Ingot tangyuan (boiled stuffed mochi)! Got this little gold ingot one to try- black sesame with pistachio. Tasty but very small. Got to keep an eye on it because it gets done VERY quickly.

Attempted viral tuna buns & protein taro peanut butter no bake Pie.
The bun- not bad way to use up canned tuna but needu to grease the pan next time. Though dry because of the tuna.
Pie- I used boba nutrition tao powder, peanut butter powder, cream cheese, and Greek yogurt .

Did some experimenting today with some mustard potato salad I got from Li/dl. Added egg and flour to make some potato salad "pancakes". Pretty tasty!

Had to use up sundubu tofu so made spam kimchi jjigae... Didn't make it too spicy so mom could try and have some.
Got twin's approval though, so win. XD

Haven't done one of these in a while. Twin's Perilla (also called Shiso) plant is thriving so trying to use it.
2nd pic-I did it Perilla leaf ground turkey similar to Thai basil dish style.

Haven't done one of these in a while. Kimchi fried rice with egg sheet slices, edamame, black beans, and sliced mini sausage.
Not too strong on the kimchi since mum can't handle too spicy... This also reminds me to figure meal planning for Tekko.

Trying to figure ways to use up protein powders & get more protein intake for my mom so decide to bake with my Boba Nutrition powders (not sponsored)
Pretty tasty & not too sweet though did overbake.

Went to Hmart for groceries and got chives. So made some Korean Chive pancakes via Maangchi's recipe! Very simple recipe and tasty with soy sauce and vinegar mix and kimchi!

So many nuts in the house . So made one of my favorite Korean side dishes- Myeolchi Bokkeum (Stir-Fried Anchovies).
Made a spicy (left) and a non-spicy version (right). There are three types of nuts- Brazil, Pecan, and walnuts. One of my fave ways to have anchovies.
#WitchWeiCooks So much to do especially now I'm on holiday. First things first- all the #thaibasil cooking. I love the smell & taste. Gonna do 2 versions... Maybe 3. One will be Thai Basil meat pastries. +3+.
Also any leftover I'll air dry. Just picking out the bad ones and let it soak.

#WitchWeiCooks Had potatoes that were rooting & dill to use so made a crispy potato salad using kewpie mayo. Also had green apples to use but didn't want sweets so looked up a savory green apple tart - added mushrooms, onion & bourbon gouda.
(I did put a bit of maple syrup on the apple).
I attempted #mille-feuillenabe & didn't go as plan. (put too less broth/water) so had to mix it all together to make sure it was all thoroughly cooked.
But still tasty and nice - warm in a cold winter night with some rice. Presentation before cooking was nice though. 🥲

Dat jiggle. Attempted a plain Basque Cheesecake yesterday... Even though I followed a recipe - I think my small oven runs too hot so it overbaked early (had to pull it out like 20 minutes early because of the sugar burn).
I know what to do for next time and it will be a Hojicha one!

~ Shrimp stuffed youtiao (Chinese fried dough)
Put too much cilantro in the shrimp mixture but also bummed the store youtiao quality was meh. :( Was hard to stuff. It's supposed to be airy, but was very dense... Still tasty though!

Wanted to try a crispy tofu recipe but didn't end up how I thought it would be but it's still tasty! I'd probably rather cube and air fry the firm tofu vs crumble.
