This is an upside down stump of a Plum tree. I used a power washer to clean out as much dirt, gravel and grit as I could before trimming it down to fit my lathe. 🌳🪵

I've been practicing hand sharpening my traditional tools, because with carbide tools available I can't justify dropping hundreds on a tormex or the like. I nailed it with this roughing gouge! It's going through hard maple like butter!
