To mark #WorldBookNight, I was invited to talk at Kensington Central Library on Folk and Fairy Tales and the Oral Tradition. We started with the pull of narrative on the human mind, looked at the development of the fairy tale tradition, & considered common characteristics of traditional tales.
If you're still on both X/Facebook - (why?) - I'm led to believe there's some fab pics of my students wrapping books in my class and then giving them away at our stall yesterday morning - unsure if I'm in images or not. Check out Hugh Baird College's post for #WorldBookNight yesterday.

On #WorldBookNight I was at a showing of the movie #ThePenguinLessons with Tom Michell - author of the original memoir - answering questions afterwards. Tom is remarkable, and modest in spite of having top actor Steve Coogan portray him! I recommend: book first, movie after.
