3 x Caspian Gulls (1 sub-ad + 2 first winters) this morning at Dover harbour building site day roost. Proving to be a decent but, sadly temporary spot for loafing birds. #kentbirding #wpgulls

11 Caspian Gulls of all ages seen in the past few days around Dover: Along the cliff tops, in cliff bottom day roosts, on the beaches and in the harbour itself. #wpgulls
First gulling session for me in a while. 8 Caspian (4x1st w, 3 x 2nd w and a 4th w) gulls at st Margaret's late morning. #wpgulls #kentbirding
An elegant 1st Winter Caspian Gull with a gleaming white underwing was sitting on the sea at Deal when I parked up to by cat litter, eggs and Vegetables. #kentbirding #wpgulls
A switch from the calm & mild weather to strong NE winds produced my first Caspian Gull for a couple of weeks, a lovely 1st winter at st Margaret's this morning, also 2 YLG present. #kentbirding #WPgulls
2nd winter Caspian Gull on the left, 2nd winter YLG on the right
2x 2nd winter Caspian Gulls and a 2nd winter Yellow-legged gull today from Kingsdown. #kentbirding #wpgulls
Adult Herring x Lesser Black-backed Gull (hybrid)
At least I think it is this hybrid combination. It associates with LLBG's and has the small size and build of a LBBG, but is lighter-mantled and has pinkish legs with yellowish wash. #wpgulls #gulls
Only a handfull of mew gulls present on the beach of Bredene, but still an adult Russian Common Gull ssp. heinei was among them. #wpgulls #gulls
Nice pale 1st winter & slightly ugly adult Caspian Gulls this morning at st Margaret's on the incoming tide. Common Gulls still passing South far out but not many interested in me and my bread today. #wpgulls #kentbirding #gulls
4th Winter Caspian Gull at st Margaret's this morning. Doing well for older birds at the moment around here. #kentbirding #wpgulls
The drought has ended - my first Caspian Gulls in a few weeks, 1st winter st Margaret's and 2nd winter in Dover harbour this afternoon. #wpgulls #kentbirding
A change in the weather an finally some decent Gulls. 5 Yellow legged gulls in the Dover area for me today, including these excellent examples of 1st, 2nd and 4th winter. #wpgulls #kentbirding
Polish ringed hybrid Mediterranean X Black headed Gull , from last week at st Margaret's bay. An attractive bird, size and flight style of BHG. #wpgulls #kentbirding
2 x 3rd winter Caspian Gulls at st Margaret's bay this am and a 1st winter at Deal beach y'day. Numbers lower with the wrong weather down here for them, too sunny and not enough wind for my sites! #kentbirding #wpgulls
Minimum 9 Caspian gulls (all ages) + 4 YLG and many northern Argies today on my Dover - Calais crossing #kentbirding #wpgulls
3rd Winter Caspian Gull at st Margaret's today, numbers of this species seem considerably lower than earlier in the month. #kentbirding #wpgulls
My favourite of today's Caspian Gulls was this adult at st Margaret's. One of 4 seen today locally. I'm Certainly enjoying seeing more adults, a noticeable increase in numbers of this age group in the last couple of years. #wpgulls #Kentbirding
3.12.24. Crosby, Merseyside, UK
Great to see this old friend back on the beach here today. This Common Gull was ringed as a 4+cy male at Tromso, Norway, on 13.5.04, so it is at least 24 years old. I first saw it in December 2010 and in most winters since then #ukbirding #birdguides #gulls #wpgulls
Last winter was good for Russian common gulls (heinei) with at least 3 identifiable individuals in the Dover area between late December and February hopefully more this season #wpgulls #ukbirding
1 of 3 different 1st Winter Caspian Gulls today at st Margaret’s bay, German ringed XA2L, several Argentatus Herring also present , been a while since I’ve looked at the gulls @kentishplover.bsky.social #kentbirding #wpgulls
