Two windows of the same program, side by side. Both contain a static text, a text input and a quit button on top of each other. The left window is light themed, has an X default icon and shows a "👮🏽♀️"-Emoji correctly. The right window is dark themed, has a Wayland default icon and shows the emoji as two broken characters and a female symbol.

Having ignored it for many many years, I gave #wxwidgets a spin. Wishing I’d used it years ago. Clean, simple, free (even for commercial use) and looks great. wxPython is super simple - in terms of learning curve, it’s almost a nod back to the old Visual Basic days.
fooling around with #wxwidgets for a bit today. vcpkg is a total God send with the experience - letting me just focus on creating an app vs 3 days of trying to build and link #win32
This is pretty cool!! I made a similar windows based app using #wxwidgets.. and they look surprisingly similar....
#BOINC is in the list of highlighted applications written with #wxwidgets: www.wxwidgets.org/about/screen...
