My chocolate peppers think they've got plenty of time before first frost. Did they not notice it was 40° F last night? Get ripe already! (I've been using them green.)
Also finally got a marigold. The plants have just been growing taller and taller all summer.

Summertime on our wooden deck with large felt Smart Pots filled with peppers, basil, nasturtiums, tomatoes and more. Containers have tomato/pepper cages in middle. Basil is in bloom and the bees are visiting the purple flower covered spikes. Obsi, the black Australorp chicken is sitting on deck rail watching Buttercup, a Buff Orpington chicken eat nasturtium leaves. Neither chicken should have been on the deck…they were later busted eating the kale plant down to its stems. Poor Ruby the Buckeye hen missed out, she was always lived life more conservatively.
Summer throwback to deck pots filled with herbs, veggies and flowers. The buzz of bees visiting purple spikes of basil flowers and chicken hijinks. 🌱
