Northern gardeners (Zones 3–6):
If you want big onion bulbs, plant long-day onions.
They bulb with 14–16 hours of daylight.
Short-day onions grow tall tops, but won’t form full bulbs this far north.

Fresh picked carrots

I need to seed the majority of my carrots to be harvested in November next year. They are SO SWEET! I canned many pints earlier this year which weren’t nearly as tasty. Making a note in my garden organizer now! #garden #gardening #gardener #veggie #vegetablegarden #gardenjournal #zone5garden

My chocolate peppers think they've got plenty of time before first frost. Did they not notice it was 40° F last night? Get ripe already! (I've been using them green.)
