Yard work started today! Need to make cages for my spring bulbs so the rabbits don't snack on them - so I brought in chicken wire and zip ties to start making some tonight so hopefully I can get out tomorrow and start protecting them! #gardening #Zone5
Yesterday, March 19th, was St-Joseph's Day, patron saint of Canada. Every year on that day, my grandmother would plant her tomato seedlings. She was also located in #zone5.
Warmer does not mean warm! In #zone5 we're still 2 months from planting our gardens. However, I'll park an easy chair in a sunny spot.
A vigorous growth of purple New England asters, Symphyotrichum novae-angliae.
It's so important to choose plants adapted for your location. My garden of local natives is doing well, the only problem is they grow too tall and flop. I'll be doing a Chelsea chop, that helps.

So this is my attempt to start pepper seeds in my window in my tiny MN apartment. There are 4 varieties in each jug, with the idea that once they are big enough to pot up individually. #gardening #Zone5 #VegetableGardening #UrbanGardening
Onion and leek seeds are up! Let's see if I can get them thru to planting in April. Also Troublecat being regal af.
