Today I’ll be planting my first batch of 50 dahlias. I buy from multiple sources so the shipments are staggered. This dahlia is from #MackCreek
This is dahlia appleblossom. It’s a variety I plant every year.

Two floral art entries. One (second in Intermedia, Mother's Day) is a tall cone made apples, green leaves, white flowers, and pink and green flowers. It's in a green glazed pot in a reversed cone shape. The other (second in Amatuer, Pumpkin Delight) is a enthusiasm of spinning gums leaves and everlasting daises in a large white pumpkin.

Rose and white flowers inside a metal cage. Foliage at the base. A lenght of ivy curls out of the base.

Two floral art entries. A basket of large green leaves (grape?) covered with grapes, apples, pears and lemons. The yellow of the lemons is reflected in yellow flowers at the top. Behind is a straw doll in a cottage dress and hat. The other one is dried hydtrangeas on top of a frame made with long, scaly dred flowerheads, front by a pile of yellow leaves and small red and yellow fruits at the base.

Three layers of flowers with fruit and vegetables peeking out, separated leaf-wrapped dividers and topped by red flwoers and leaves. The upper layer has lines or thin-skinned lemons cute in half, which look very juicy.

When will they ever learn.

Winter didn’t arrive here this year. These aphids have been on the plant since I noticed in January! Going to be an interesting gardening season. Now in late March, the weather had been gloomier than it was in January. But still not freezing temperatures. I’m ready for spring to come! #dahlias
