the beach episode in question does happen before the rite starts:
#ximena talks zoraal ja into spending time with his siblings and he's annoyed because to him they're his enemies now. ximena annoyed him so much in fact that he accepts (mostly because part of him does want to spend time with them)
hard to say actually as her mother doesn't talk about her life before tuliyollal at all, #ximena only knows her mother came there shortly after she was born.
what she doesn't know is the circumstances of her birth and that she actually just wanted to hand her daughter over to gulool ja ja and leave.
#ximena means something like "one who listens/hears" or "listener" and i thought that would fit perfectly since i made her specifically for zoraal ja to ship with and he lacks someone who listens to him in the canon.
zoraal ja. every single kiss is memorable and meaningful.
in my hc mamool ja couples usually don't give kisses but he decided to do that typical human gesture for #ximena and it works out fine since he has in fact lips to kiss :3
#ximena loves when she's hugged and kissed by him or when he rests his hand on her, when he runs his dangerous-looking fingers gently over her skin.
it's mostly the trust and the carefulness with which he handles her. he looks rough and dangerous but is soft and safe.
#ximena and zoraal ja adopted gulool ja in my main canon and everything is a little more complicated in that, but to ximena it was clear they will take care of the little boy and after a lot of hesitation zoraal ja decided to let him into his heart too, as he's not alone with all the responsibility.
zoraal ja proposed to #ximena some time before the rite.
they never talked about it but there was an unspoken promise between them for years.
being a mamool ja/shetona couple, he planned on proposing to her like the human races do, their wedding will be a mix of human and mamool ja tradition! : )
seeing zoraal ja in the terrible place he was. depending on the canon or any of my AUs, #ximena suffers a lot when she sees the pain and suffering he kept to himself for all those years, even from her firsthand and the possible destruction that followed his decisions.
#ximena is pretty messy when it comes to her stuff and her room, she can't be helped, she's always busy with something and simply forgets the cleaning or putting the things away she used ;u;
her love is more organized than her (which doesn't mean xi isn't organized in some way, she's just different)

in a DT msq situation where #ximena is more like an NPC, so she'd be introduced by erenville at the rite.
she's an ambivert and likes talking with people but is drained after a few hours.
some days she spends only time with her lover. she likes his type of quiet and feels save around him most.
the day zoraal ja came to rescue lamati'y and elene'shpya from a zaghnal roaming tuliyollal. he and #ximena were 13 and the next day she had to leave her home. and him :(
she kissed him goodbye. and they both realized their feelings for another.
eventually ximena came back to him a few years later.
growing up #ximena did look up to and idolized gulool ja ja, probably like everyone and their grandmother!
when she became an adult, she realized he is flawed in some important aspects and needs help regarding those.
he has a very good heart and there rests a lot of weight on his shoulders.
zoraal ja calls #ximena "little rabbit" in a mocking way, and she sometimes calls him "lizard prince".
it's in a joking way ofc and they both know that. ximena is fine with it. zoraal ja doesn't care.
(the part that does annoy him is when she calls him "prince", lizard is fine)
